7. Hey, Platypus

It's him. Carlos.

Memories flood to me.

I was happy. Well, almost happy. And he had to come into my life right now. He was practically dead to me. I never thought I'd see him again. And here he was standing with his stupid hair and stupid face.
 
He looks at me and says, "Hey,platypus." With an expression of relief or grief, which of both, I can't tell.
Haya and Theo shake me back to reality when they ask me who he is.
"Carlos". It comes out in a whisper.
Haya gasps and Theo is like who now. She reminds him about the whole fiasco. They're looking at him like they're about to tear his head off  if he even tries to talk to me.

I don't wanna see him right now. I turn away from and whisper to Haya "Can we get out of here."
"Of course." She grabs Theo and we're bolting out of the cafeteria.

We're on the bleachers. Wow, such a nice place for all THREE of us. Not awkward at all.

"So are you alright?" Haya asks to break the silence.
"Yeah.. kinda I dunno. I didn't think of him in a long time you know, and now here he is. I mean he could've been it touch so it wouldn't come as a shock that he's here. What am I supposed to say to him. If he wants to talk."
Theo suddenly says, " You don't say shit, Perri. That summer you cried when you stepped on an autumn leaf. A LEAF WOMAN! If you wanna hear him out, that's your decision but he already told you why, so I don't see the point!"
"Woah, chill Theo. You just cleared my head. I get it he probably has nothing to say. If he does try and talk Imma be like sure why not and then I'll be like I'm great life's been so much better without you." I say.
"Yeah sure honey," (this part with sarcasm while continuing seriously) "talk to him if he asks, okay" Haya looks at me like a saint and says, "Because you were friends before ...whatever you were."

This bitch how is she so wise while being a complete dumbass. I look at her and give her a look like 'ok ok fine'.

"But can I not deal with him today."
"Yeah, you have to deal with us though." Theo says. "Oh yeah, you two wuv birds" I point at them and make kissy faces and flying gestures. This is how I deal with them being together, making fun of them. Yes it's perfect.
"Please, Perri. Don't do that we are not kindergarten. If you feel awkward tell us." He says.
"Not you too, you both are together. Embrace it. Wait have even been out on a date?" I ask after the sudden question in my mind.
"No" they both say. "And I'm the one in kindergarten right." I say.
"I'm leaving you both so you can discuss where you wanna go out to." I say and quickly get away from there.
They try to stop me but I was halfway down the steps.

I'm walking in the hallway when I see the notice for our school's new production.
-Into the woods-
I am beyond freaking out right now. INTO THE WOODS. This is movie is one of my favourite disney musicals.
I am freaking out even more because I didn't know about this. I'm in the drama club. I'm walking to our theatre room cause the club is about to get an earful.They decided without me not that I hate their decision about the musical.

I reach there to see most of the club there eating. They see me and smile. They all say in unison "SURPRISE".
Our club president Sue says "So are you happy, we got the school to finally accept a new production and yes we chose your musical."
I'm in awe right now. See our school has always had the same musicals or plays. They didn't change them cause nobody asked if there could be a new one. Some people did, but our principal used to brush them off saying we didn't have the budget for it. But Sue and the rest of us have been requesting for a new musical for a long time. The students in our school are probably sick of seeing romeo and juliet everytime.

We don't have the thespian/stage crew rivalry stuff at our school in fact gets along very well. I'm one of the stage crew members. My job is well complicated. I paint sets, help make the costumes, handle the lighting etc.,etc. I also audition for small roles, let me rephrase that, whatever small roles are left out some of the crew members take those parts. I'm on the dance team so I choreograph the dances for the musical sometimes and that is why I'm in the club, also the people are freakishly talented and amazing.

"Yeah, I'm happy. I have a question though why this musical? Why the one I told?" I say.
"Bruh, you seriously asking me that you have been bugging all of us to see the damn movie and you keep annoying us with the songs. Also it was between this and Hamilton and obviously we haven't got Lin-Manuel Miranda. And also Theo knew about it." Sue finishes.
Theo is also in the club and he's an actor, a very good one.
"He didn't tell me, I guess he wanted it to be a surprise too. Oh well, when are the auditions?" I ask not able to contain my excitement.
"Later this week. And you are auditioning this time."
I give her a look like 'yeah sure we'll see'.
