Rikka paced as she waited in the locker room with numerous bladers around her. "You do realize that this is just the qualifiers, right?" Yuuta asked while cleaning Leviathan. Kumin sat beside him with a sheep-shaped pillow in her arms. "Yeah, you've got nothing to worry about Rikka. Just do your best." She said proceeding to give a quiet yawn right after. "But what if my 'best' isn't good enough? What if I don't get past the first round? What if I don't even pass the qualifiers?!" Rikka said nervously.
Yuuta slowly stood and put his hand on Rikka's shoulder. " I understand how you feel, being at your first tournament, but you'll be fine. Just trust in your partner and show everyone just how strong you and your bey can be. Think of this as a training journey for you and Susano." Rikka stared at Yuuta for a moment and took a deep breathe. "Alright. I'll try my best!" She replied.
"However," she added. "I want to ask a favor of you first." Yuuta's smile instantly turned into a somewhat skeptical look. "Ok, what is it?" "When we battled the other day, you were holding back. So, I want you to promise to battle me with everything you've got when we meet in the finals! " Yuuta paused for a moment. 'Already aiming for the top, eh?' he thought. "Alright, but in order for me to actually fulfill that promise, you have to hold up your end of the bargain too." Rikka nodded.
She pulled out Susano and held it to Yuuta, who stared at the bey, not knowing how to react. "What are you doing?" he asked. "In order to seal this pact, our beys must also be in agreement." Yuuta stared into Rikka's eye and sighed. He pulled out Leviathan and held it to Rikka and both bladers clinked the beys together. "It is now settled. We shall meet in the finals at the appointed time of-" "That's enough outta you." Yuuta interrupted as he chopped Rikka on the head. "Ow!" she cried.
Just then, one of the referee's came into the room and said, "Attention all bladers. it's time for the qualifiers to begin." When the referee left the room, most of the bladers scrambled out the door.

"Good morning Bey fans!" Hanami said through the microphone. "It's time for the qualifier rounds of the Longinus Cup to begin. But before we get started, we have a bit of a preliminary test for all the competitors."
As Hanami spoke, large machines came out of the walls of the stage. On them were handles of string launchers and gauges were displayed above them on a large screen. "These machines will test the Blader's launch power. Only the top bladers will be able to advance to the qualifiers!"
"A test of power, huh? Thanks to my special training, this'll be a piece of cake!" Aiga said. "Don't get too confident." Fubuki warned. "Let's get started! Will the following bladers please climb onto the stage?" Profiles of the first set of bladers were shown on the screen. When they stepped up to the machines, they counted down and launched. This was a repeating process. Then Yuuta, Fubuki, Aiga, Suoh and Rikka were next.
"Ready, Set!" "3! 2! 1! Go, Shoot!" After they launched, the Gauges above them rose to the top of the screen. "Nice launch bladers! Now that all the bladers have launched, it's time to reveal the results!" The bladers on stage stepped back and looked at the screen above them.
"Among the twenty-eight bladers that made it to the qualifiers are Aiga Akaba, Suoh Goshuin, Fubuki Sumiye, Yuuta Togashi, Rikka Takanashi, Tokonatsu Aoi, Ranjiro Kiyama, Koji Konda and at the top of the rankings is one of the top bladers in Korea, Hoi Oh!"
Just then, the screen changed from the rankings board to a video. In front of the camera was a large, muscular Blader with tanned skin, spiky grey hair and red eyes. He had a one-sleeved black sweatshirt, red pants with red and yellow shoes. "Go, Shoot!" As soon as he pulled, the machine came clean off the stage. Everyone in the crowd couldn't believe their eyes. "Woah!" Aiga exclaimed. "That guy's a Blader? Just how strong is he?"
"I apologize. Please allow me to try again." The muscular Blader requested. "N-no please, that's all right!" A referee said as Hoi handed him the remains of the machine. "So, this is the competition?" Rikka thought as she gulped. She turned her head to the Bladers beside her. "Yuuta's counting on me to make it to the finals. I won't let him down!"
"Looks like we've got some powerful Competitors." Hanami said through the microphone. "With that, let the Let's begin the Longinus Qualifiers!"
