" I am the spirit of fire. The flames...... Well, I deal with the element fire. But you are different from any Elrock or Ramozx I've seen. You manipulated the fire. No one has been able to do that before." Spirit of fire? That's why nothing happened to her in the fire. It's crazy but why is it making sense to me?
"Guess you meant it literally when you said best friends forever" I didn't know how I was able to crack a joke after she went all serious. But I was glad.
"Yup. No escape. Hehe!, No way out" She gave me an evil smile.
"God! You are so creepy!" I covered my face.
"Thank you"
"That is not a compliment" After some fun, we went back to serious talk. It was really surprising how she changed her moods. It was as if he had a switch.
"What do you mean I am different?" I asked her. She gave me a confused look.
" I don't know," she said.
"There are four spirits. They call us the custos. The spirit of Air and the spirit of Nature is on the side of Ramozx. Which leaves the spirit of water and the --"
" Spirit of fire on the side of Elrocks," I whispered.
" Maybe. But we have to be careful" she said.
"What do you mean by maybe?"
"Xylia was the last of purebloods. The Ramozx wanted her dead. While the Elrocks wanted to extract her energy and become more powerful. I choose to stand by your side, Evelyn. I swore my light to protect you. So will I, always" She said. I let it sink in. Both of them wanted my mom dead.....
"what do you mean by your light?"
"My powers and my existence."
"What will happen if you don't... protect me?"
"If you're in pain, I can feel it too. We are connected" We stayed quiet for a while.
"But she's dead," I told her, referring to my mom.
"Everyone thought so. But yesterday there was energy radiation which almost anyone can feel. It was way too powerful than Xylia's. Now, both Ramozx and Elrocks must be in search of it. "She said staring into the crystal.
"Since both Ramozx and Elrocks have the same powers what is exactly the difference between them?"
"The Ramozx follow the dark while we follow the light"
"What do you mean?"
" I'll explain later. Now we'll have to begin our training" she pulled me up to my feet.
"Training what?"
"Training your powers. How to use them and to control them. These days you were under your mom's spell which prevented you from reaching your powers. But yesterday you broke the spell as your energy was way too powerful for it to contain." She said.
"My what?" I asked in confusion.
"You heard me, Eve. Now that everybody has sensed your magic. I'm sure that they're after it. So if you want to go to school normally and live your normal life then you must learn to control your powers. I know it a lot to process but you have to listen to me. You are the last thing I want to lose so listen to me carefully. "She said placing her hands on my shoulder. I could feel the intensity of seriousness in her eyes.
" We thought you'll be safe here with humans but they have sensed your magic. They are after you. But we have an advantage. They don't know you. They don't even know you exist. So all they are looking for is Xylia. If you learn to control your powers, then they'll never be able to find you."
