I flatten down my dress, sighing as I look into the mirror. My hair was pushed behind my ears and my mascara was already smudged on my face. I quickly wipe it, applying more onto my eyelashes.

[IF YA'LL ARE WONDERING WHAT THE DRESS LOOKS LIKE]

Bonnie's memorial was in about an hour, and I was trying to prepare myself to hold it together. But I knew for a fact I was going to break.

I take a deep breath as I slip on my matte black heels, quickly exiting the room to see Steve sat at the top of the stairs.

"Hey," I lick my lips, sitting down next to him, "I'm ready when you are."

"How do you do this?" Steve asks, turning to me, "How can you lose so many people, and still move along?"

I look down at my hands, "I-I don't really know. I guess I've been through so much pain that I'm just used to everyone leaving."

Steve runs a hand down his face, his eyes watering, "I'll never leave you, okay? Never."

I smile, grabbing his hand, "Thank you, Steve."

I walk into Damon and Elena's room, seeing Damon embracing my sister while she cried.

"Elena." I clear my throat, and Damon pulls away from her, both of them turning to me.

"Emmie," Elena cries, pulling me into her arms. Damon slowly walks out, leaving me with my sister, "I can't believe she's gone."

"I know, Lena. I know," I sigh, biting my lip as I hug my sister tighter, "This shouldn't be happening. It's just unfair."

Elena sobs, "I-I hate this, so much, and I wish th-this could be any other way, but it can't, and I know it can't. So I'm glad I get to do it with you, little sister."

I rub her back, sniffling, "I love you, Lena."

"I love you too, Em."

As we walk through the woods, holding our things for Bonnie, I chew on my lip.

Steve was by my side, nervously fidgeting with his fingers. He had told me he didn't feel right coming to the memorial for someone he had never met, but I told him he was fine, and had nothing to worry about.

We all surround the tree stump that Jeremy had placed a framed photo of Matt, Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, and I on.

Caroline walks up, placing down Bonnie's cheerleader pom-pom's on the tree stump gently, going back to her spot, tears streaming down her face.

I was next, softly placing down the daylight ring she had made me back in Hawkins when I first turned. I bite my lip, wiping under my eyes as I walk up next to Steve, and he pulls me to his side, rubbing my back.

Matt was next, putting down a whistle.

Next was Elena. She leans against the stump, picking up feathers that she gathered in a bowl, and sprinkling them all over the other items.

She immediately begins to sob, quickly turning and walking into Caroline and I's arms, and we all embrace in a group hug.

I hadn't seen what Damon put down, as I was focused on the arms wrapped around me, and the tears slipping from my eyes.

As we slowly pull apart, Caroline and Lena hold hands as I sink back to Steve's side, not done with my crying fit.

"Shh, it's ok." Steve coo's, rubbing my back as I try to stifle my cries.

Jer steps up, taking the bell in his hands, "We ring this bell in honor of Bonnie, and in honor of Billy," I look to Steve, and he gives me a small smile, "In remembrance for both of them," He shakes the bell, and it jingles softly, "I'm not sure what else to say," He pauses, "Bonnie says that she's not going anywhere, that she has been here all along. Bonnie has watched you have the summer of your life," I look up to Steve, smiling in irony. We had the worst summer anyone could ever have, Jeremy directs this towards Elena, "And she saw you happy. And I know you think now that you can't have a normal life...that you have to be here for everyone, but you don't. Everyone will find their way, so you are gonna repack your things, you're gonna go back to college, and you're gonna live it up," Jeremy looks to me, "Emmie, you lost so much this summer, your vampirism, your boyfriend, your father-figure, Bonnie, but don't let that stop you. You will find Billy, and you will bring him back, okay? And in the process, you need to know, everyone is here to help you," He looks off to some space in between Matt and Steve, before looking back to me, "She says check the Grimoire hidden in the throne, that'll give you all the info you'll need to find him," Jeremy softly smiles at me, before telling Matt what Bonnie wanted him to know. Jer then goes onto telling Caroline, but stops mid-sentence to look at the person who just arrived, Tyler.

Caroline smiles as she runs up to him, engulfing him in a hug.

He sets the white rose he had brought on the tree stump, before stepping back to Caroline's side.

I stare at the picture on the stump one last time, before turning my head, burying it in Steve's chest.
