"We're engaged!" Liam and Jessie exclaim through our FaceTime call. My jaw drops, and I smile widely.
"Yes! Oh my goodness. Congratulations!" It's been two weeks since the confrontation with Grayson, and I've mostly moved past it. Andrew could sense something was off, but I told him it was nothing.
"We have it all on video and have pictures for you," Jess tells me with a wide grin, then shows me her beautiful ring.
"Wow. That is beautiful! Great job, Liam." I smirk and he laughs. "Send me the video and pictures!"
My phone starts to ring, and my smile drops immediately. "Rae? What's wrong?" Liam asks, both of them looking worried.
"Um. I'll call you back. Send me the stuff!" I hang up, then answer my phone. "Grayson?"
"Raelinn," he breathes, his voice sounding relieved.
"Why are you calling me?" It comes out harsher than I mean, but it gets the point across.
"I wanted to apologize for what I said a couple of weeks ago. I didn't mean any of it. I'm calling now because I wanted to give you some time. I'm sorry, Rae," he tells me, and I close my eyes.
"I can't talk right now. My boyfriend should be here soon to go to my grandparents for thanksgiving, so I'll let you go," I tell him. He lets out a sigh.
"Okay. Bye, Rae," his voice is soft.
"Bye. I love you." We both hang up and I realize what I said. My phone starts to ring, and it's Grayson again. "Gray?"
"Did you say what I think you said?"
"What did you think I said?" I ask, feigning confusion.
"Raelinn... do you still love me?" The door to the apartment opens, and Andrew steps inside.
"Andrew is here, I have to go." I hang up the phone, my heart racing. Shit. I didn't mean to say that, even if I did mean it. Wait, do I mean it?
"Hey, who was that?" Andrew asks, walking over to me, and kissing my forehead.
"Liam and Jessie. They got engaged," I tell him. I shouldn't lie, but it's not exactly all a lie. I just left out the part about Grayson.
