Simone couldn't believe how easy it was, the moment that the rumors started that Jade was ready to change into her wolf, she set her plan in motion.

Waiting for the opportunity, watching and listening vigilantly in the woods, hiding in the shadows nearby, together with two companions, having used a witch's brew to hide their scent.

The moment Luca's wolf fell far behind, Simone's companions pounced , knocking Jade out, their male bodies slamming hard into the unaware newly shifted shewolf.

Simone could only laugh internally, as she approached the still form of Jade's wolf, the two male wolves sitting on either side, awaiting further orders.

Patting their heads, she bent down, a sharp knife in her hand, grabbing the shewolf's head in a tight grip, exposing her neck, Simone took the knife ready to slit Jade's throat, when a dark shadow pounced out of nowhere and shoved her body out of the way with force.

And before blackness consumed her, the last thing she saw, was a large black wolf tearing her companions viciously apart.

The moment Luca felt his mate's pain, his wolf ran as if the hounds of hell were after him, running with speed through the woods, searching desperately for his mate, knowing she couldn't have gone far.

Then intense rage, as he saw Simone hovering over his still mate, without thought he lunged, knocking her away and then tearing her companions apart. Not for a moment did he question the reasoning for these three wolves to be around his mate or why they were here out in the woods, his only instinct was to protect what was his.

Having killed the two male wolves, Luca let out a loud howl, calling out for help.

Then transforming into his human form in an instant and running at speed towards his unconscious mate, falling onto his knees, his hands brushing over her fur, desperately searching for any wounds, laying his head on her side, listening intently for a heartbeat, a moment of relief as he heard the faint heartbeat of her heart.

Gathering her limp form into his arms, he slowly stood up, he needed to get her to the pack doctor asap.

Turning towards the pack house, Logan and a couple of warriors appeared, "Get that bitch locked up, I will deal with her later..." Luca growled out angrily, nodding his head in the direction where Simone lay unconscious.

Logan did as his Alpha ordered within minutes, making sure that Simone was locked up and guarded.

Ordering his warriors to clear up the mess of the two dead wolves, satisfied as they did as instructed, he made his way quickly to the pack house, knowing that if things weren't well with Jade, shit was going to hit the roof.

Luca rushed into the pack house, shouting out orders as he made his way to an empty room, the pack doctor following them.

Placing his mate's wolf form on the bed, he forcibly stepped back, his hands fisted by his sides, noting the presence of his father and Marcus behind him, as he watched the doctor examine his mate.

What felt like hours, when in fact it was only mere minutes, the doctor finally straightened up, looking solemnly at his Alpha, "I don't find any external injuries, I need to have her change into her human form, to be able to assess her injuries better..." He explained, a note of fear in his voice.

Everyone in the room, knew the implication of a forced change, it was even more painful than the first shift.

Luca growled loudly out in anger and frustration. Knowing it was the only way to figure out why his mate was still unconscious, nodding his head at the doctor, giving his consent. Preparing himself mentally for the onslaught of pain that was going to hit him the moment his mate was injected with a serum to force her into her human form.

Completely forgetting that his father and Marcus were in the room or even that Logan had entered.

At the first pain filled scream from Jade's lips, Luca saw red, but before he could move forward towards his mate, he was overpowered, slammed down onto the ground, unable to move, as he tried valiantly to throw whomever dared to pin him down.

Growling in anger, half-shifting into his wolf form, thrashing and bucking, trying to get them off him, while his ears rang with the sounds of his mate's screams and his body was filled with immense pain, feeling every crack and realignment of her bones.

Until silence suddenly descended upon them, "It's done..." Theo, his father growled lowly, near his ear, gaining his attention, his breathing harsh and breathless, his body tense and sweating, as he lay there on the ground, trying to gain control over his wolf.
