The next morning, the four of them did their regular morning routine, and headed off to school. They hadn't forgotten about their task, they'd just pushed it aside. Once they arrived at school, other students from the other classes had come to 'scout' the 'enemy'. The sports festival was in three days, so, the rest of their classes would be used as time to prepare, instead of what they usually did. Naturally, Killua, Gowther, Ban and Saiki, had no use for the training. Either way, they already knew the outcome. They may have seemed arrogant, but, however arrogant they may have seemed, it was the truth. Anymore training would have been overkill, besides, they had bigger problems than the festival. To them, the Sports Festival was just a medium for broadcasting their powers to as many people as possible. Although it was risky, they needed to continue looking for someone who could send them back, if it turned out that Kurogiri was incapable of sending them back.
"We need to win, and win by a lot." Killua reminded them.
"Should be a piece of cake!" Ban laughed. They were currently on the field outside, everyone was training in their respective areas, and the four of them were talking.
"Hey! You guys should be training! Now is no time to sit around!" Iida yelled.
"*Sigh* Are one of you going to tell him or should I?" Killua sighed.
'What a pain, even if we tell him, we'll have to do it anyways.' Saiki thought. 'I'm already training by having my mind control active during school, and having my clone do hero work behind the scenes
"Listen, we train on our own time. Besides, how can you be sure we're not training now? Hm~?" Ban chuckled.
"It's obvious that you're just sitting around! As class leader, it's my job to maintain order!" Iida saluted.
"At ease dude, we'll train now." Killua rolled his eyes.
'Don't show off.' Saiki warned them. They all nodded and started their training. Killua's 'training' consisted of doing Rhythm Echo over and over again, Ban's was getting injured and healing himself, Saiki just floated above them all and Gowther... didn't... do anything. He saw no point in keeping up appearances, but there was nothing they could do about that. After their training session, everyone went home, almost everyone. The other worldly beings went to the League's hideout. All four of them weren't very happy with the League, they were all used to being the most powerful (which they still were), and none of them liked being bossed around. Even Gowther, who was usually indifferent to things like this, had expressed his negative feelings towards the way the League was behaving.
"I take it you've decided who you're going to kill?" Shigaraki's awful voice was definitely one they would have to get used to.
"Illusory Hero: Fake." Saiki stated.
"Hm. Never heard of him." Shigaraki muttered.
"I have." Kurogiri came to the rescue, even if by accident. "He hasn't been getting loads of press, but he's a good hero." Kurogiri explained.
"Alright. Bring me his head by next week. The longer you take... the worse it becomes for you." Shigaraki threatened.
~Afterwards, at a nearby park~
The four of them were all sitting on a bench, none of them speaking. They sensed the presence of someone, and were immediately on guard.
"Oi, calm down. It's just me." It was Kurogiri.
"Do you need something?" Killua spat.
"Woah, what's with the hostility?" Kurogiri chuckled. When no one said anything, he continued, "No. I came to tell you something."
They all lowered their guards a little. "What do you have to say?" Saiki asked.
"I can't help you. I don't know how to open up a portal between dimensions. It's impossible. I'm sorry, but you might never be able to get back." He said honestly.
"Ah. Thank you for telling us. Is there any particular reason why you decided to share what you know with us?" Saiki walked towards him.
"If Shigaraki manages to manipulate you four, this world doesn't stand a chance."
"We had no intention of allowing him to manipulate us." Gowther spoke up.
"Maybe so, but it's not like anyone wants to get manipulated. For all you know he could have done it already. That's just the kind of person Shigaraki is." Kurogiri explained.
"Either way, thank you for telling us. I'm sure you know what this means for you and your group. As a courtesy we will leave you alone, however if you are to get in our way I'm afraid our generosity will run out. Do whatever you like with everyone else, as long as you don't bother us we won't stop you. What happens here won't affect us in the long run." A dark aura surrounded Saiki. (I channeled my inner Kyoya Ootori while I wrote this.)
"Like Saiki has just said, we aren't part of your troupe of assassins any longer." Killua grinned.
"Of course, this exchange no longer benefits you. Do be warned, Shigaraki doesn't take kindly to quitters." After he finished his sentence, he disappeared. Killua and Ban we're surprised by the way Saiki spoke, but they would be lying if they said but neither of them found it amusing. Although they weren't very happy with The League, they had learned something. And now, with that particular thorn in their side gone, the realization that they no longer had any leads with starting to sink in.
Saiki wouldn't forget about the League, even though the time they spent there was short lived, he felt just in getting revenge, he had already started to come up with a plan. He wasn't going to let them off easily, something would be done before he left. Even though he knew, that the longer they spent in a world that wasn't their own, the worse it would get for everyone, he wouldn't let this slide.
That was suuuper short, but I wanted to end it there. I don't know how many chapters are left, but the story is a little more than halfway done as of now. However long it takes me to actually finish the book is still up in the air.
