Warren relaxed into the sofa like a weight had just been lifted off his chest. As for the other four, this was the easiest thing for them. Killing wasn't a requirement, and this had nothing to do with UA so even if they did end up cutting a few lives short, it wouldn't be UA's job to take care of it.
"When do we start?" Killua grinned.
"UA does internships every year, although we are mainly research based, we do have heroes working for us doing patrols. Naturally, they're genetically modified."
"Naturally...." Ban mumbled.
"So we'll be interning at Anatomy Biologica? Doesn't your company have a bad rep? How do you know we'll be allowed?" Killua asked.
"Yes, Yes, and I already checked, it's fine." He answered.
"Who made the game?" Saiki asked.
"I'm glad you asked. My Grandfather's Father." He got up and turned so his back faced them. "Obviously, this means that you aren't the first players to play this game, but, you will be the last." He sighed.
"Did everyone who played the game complete it?" Killua continued. "What happened to them? Also, what about the guy who gave me a message before I started playing?"
"You sure have a lot of questions."
"Naturally." Killua mocked.
"Fair enough." He thought about his answer. "No. No one else has ever completed the game, for a simple reason. They don't want to. The man who gave you the message, was... an important friend of mine. He was the 11th person to come here, I met him when I was fifteen, and we became friends. At the time, my father was the only one with the power to send people back, but all the people who came here, never wanted to return to their worlds. Akito was one of them. My father forced him to return." There was obviously more to the story, but none of them pried any further. "Anyways, just do the internship at my company, and you'll get back fine!" He checked his watch. "Ah, would you look at the time, you kids should get some rest. I'll be going now." He waved and turned to leave. "Ah, one last thing, you won't be seeing me during your internships, so I leave everything to you." He briskly left.
"So... there was something off about that story." Killua said after a few minutes of silence.
"Yes. He left some parts of the story out." Gowther agreed.
"For all we know, that whole story could've been bullshit." Ban shrugged.
"He has no reason to come up with a lie so far fetched." Gowther said listlessly.
"Who's side are you on?" Ban argued. Gowther gave him an innocent smile.
"It's getting late. We should eat." Killua sighed. "Ban, I know you can cook really well, but we should just order something."
"Order?" Ban asked.
"Get someone to bring food for you." Killua explained.
"Oh, yeah, I'm getting tired of cooking three meals for all of you everyday. You guys eat like there's no tomorrow."
"You should take it as a compliment." Killua shrugged.
"Tch...." Ban muttered.
"So... what are we ordering?" Killua asked.
"I don't know how to order things~" Ban waved him off.
"Saiki?"
"Something simple."
"Okay... Gowther?" Killua looked at Gowther. Gowther tilted his head to the side and gave Killua a questioning look. "FINE! I'll pick something...." Killua looked through the phone book. "Pizza? There are loads of restaurants nearby."
"Sure~!"
"Pizza's fine." Saiki agreed. Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"I've got it~!" Ban jumped off the couch and 'sauntered' over to the door. "Hello~?" Silence.
.
.
.
"Come in then~!" Ban returned to the living room with three people behind him. Principal Nezu, All Might and EraserHead. Killua re-entered the living room and put the phone back on the it's stand.
"What's up sensei's?" He waved. They nodded in acknowledgement.
"We have something very important to discuss with you, regarding the League of Villains." Principal Nezu stated seriously. "You will each be questioned privately."
'No police....' Saiki noted, and made the others aware of it too. If they were going to make a big deal out of this, or if they genuinely thought that they had been working with the League, wouldn't they have brought some officers, or a detective? They didn't have time to worry about detectives or the police right now. They could all only hope that Gowther would play along.
"Saiki first. Aizawa and I will be questioning you. Toshinori, watch them." Principal Nezu and Aizawa took Saiki to the kitchen. They sat at the island and began the questions.
"Where are you from?" Principal Nezu asked.
"Japan." Saiki answered calmly.
"Have you ever lived anywhere else?"
"America."
"After we did the quirk evaluation and I confronted you, Ban said 'We aren't from here, or anywhere near here.', elaborate." Aizawa asked.
"...." Saiki didn't have anything to say, he knew asking that question would backfire, but there was nothing he could do about it. "I can't answer that." He replied finally.
"Hm. We'll come back to that." Principal Nezu mumbled. "What is your involvement with the League of Villains?"
"What makes you think I'm involved with them at all?" Saiki dodged the question.
"We have our sources, so, I'll ask you again, what is your involvement with the League of Villains?"
I just finished Banana Fish and it was really good, but I'm sad now.
