"Maybe I should.."
"Yes Pete, this is a family affair so your should leave" she told him in an icy tone, not even sparing him a glance, something he didn't mind a least bit. One last look at Pick who seemed unfazed by his mother's sudden visit, he walked out.
"How could you so easily say he's not family?" Pick asked her quietly then chuckled. "Oh, yeah, I forgot that's what you do"
"I do not appreciate that tone Phassakorn"
"And I don't appreciate you making my life's decisions" Pick retorted. "I am not gonna marry that girl or anyone else that you chose for me for that matter. I'm not"
Lana looked him in the eye. That was a first for her. Her son talking back to her. "How dare you?"
"How dare you? You set me up for a marriage, and to fuck with asking, you didn't even bother telling me! What were you hoping for? Telling me to entertain her, sending her here with the idea she's gonna.. what? Live with her fiance? She asked me why I checked her in a hotel room, why not take her home, she was throwing herself at me left and right, did you ask her to do that?" Pick was fuming by the time his father walked in. He chuckled bitterly. "I kinda feel like I know, you. You were hoping I'll shack up with her and then you'd tell me to be responsible for her. Am I wrong?"
Lana smirked slightly. "I see you're getting smarter" then stepped closer to him. "It is a once in a lifetime deal Phassakorn, family is gonna benefit so much from it. You have no idea. You already not doing anything for the family, you study to be a lowlife animal healer, you are lucky, they still agreed to have you. You will not ruin it for me. You hear me. YOU. WILL. NOT. RUIN. IT" Satisfied, she stepped away from him. "Get this through your thick skin. She is a gold mine and you will be getting exclusive rights to that. I'm making your life here, so you better be grateful" she turned to walk away from the room.
"I'm gay"
She stopped in her tracks. The room suddenly felt chilly with the quiet. She turned to look at his face. He gulped.
"You heard me mom" Pick's lips quivered in fear. "I can't marry a girl no matter how big of a gold mine she is. I can't do that to her because I'm gay"
Lana turned around, her cold face unfazed. "You will be engaged to Prae, you will get married when we find it suitable and you will not disobey me and you will never ever say such nonsense in front of anyone, ever. Get that through your thick head" she said in a menacing tone that like always, made Pick wonder if that woman really was his mother.
He looked down and sighed. "What kind of a monster you are?"
He felt cold in his spine when she spoke. "Excuse me?!"
He licked his lips and looked up. "It took me years, years to admit and it felt good. You won't take that away from me"
Lana smirked. "Are you threatening me Phassakorn?"
"I'm saying I'm your bloody son, it's time you start treating me like one" he walked past his father but stopped. "I spent a week at your brother's place. I wish you were half the man he is"
Weir looked surprised but Pick didn't care, he walked out on his parents, where? Till when? He didn't know.
"Maybe..."
"Don't. Don't you even try Weir" She shot her husband a look that shut him up. "You want to actually do something for once? Why don't you go bring your seed back from your brother"
Weir sighed. "You know he's my son and he has a name"
Lana smirked, dangerously. Too dangerously. "Look at me and say it again I dare you" When Weir didn't huffed and walked out. "Fine all almighty Rachatrakul, you bring that bastard son of yours back where he belongs and I deal with my son" She said in a mocking tone with eyes full of hatred as always when talking about Sun. "At least I can count on you to do that, right?"
