C H A P T E R 3|   I disliked school. But that's just putting it nicely, because in reality I absolutely loathed it. The kids were snobby and stuck up. Or they were super weird kids that were never taught a lesson on hygiene and acted like they knew it all.

Our school was big so it was easy to be forgotten in the the classroom, assemblies, and crowds. Unless you were very liked or disliked. Luckily for me I was able to fade into the background like chameleon in the rainforest.

Jake happens to go to this school as well. He always acted as though he never knew me and explained to me after school one day, that he couldn't let his social status go down because of a girl. It hurt, but this was Jake. I loved Jake.

So far, today, I haven't seen Jake in any of his classes. We shared very few of them and only saw each other about three or four times total in school. I wondered why he hadn't shown up today.

It's not like he would worry if you didn't show up to school. My inner voice thought.

Yes he would! Jake loves me. And I love him too. There's no way he wouldn't care about me. I retorted.

Yeah, that's why he soooooo nice to you.

I mentally shook my head, pushing all the negative thoughts away. I turned my focus onto my teacher of the last class of the day. We only had a week left of school until summer break and I needed to make sure I had the best grades I could manage. Hopefully I end with at least a B.

The bell rings signaling the end of the class and everyone, including me, scurries out of the room eager to escape what a lot of people would call a "hell hole".

Once out of the school building I slowly trudge my way to the den of lions, the pit of snakes, or otherwise known as, my parents house.

The walk isn't long. Seeing as it would have been an eight minutes drive, so I end up at the house pretty quickly. I check the driveway for and cars and quickly scan the windows for any signs of life inside the house. When I noticed nothing, I quickly made my way to my bedroom and collapse on the bed. My body welcoming the sleep that overtook me.
