Amy returned home and kicked her shoes off, it had been a long hard day and she wanted nothing more than to kick back and turn on Netflix. That idea went out the window when Kaylee came around the corner with a kicked-dog look in her eyes. Amy's heart dropped, thinking something awful happened to her daughter.

"What happened?" Amy breathed out finally.

"Well um...Rebecca's fine, she's next door," Kaylee said sheepishly.

"Why?"

"Um...well...she got her foot caught in the seaweed in the lake and a guy came and got her out and she's next door."

"You let her go with some strangers?!" Amy wasn't doing to well at reeling in her anger.

"Well they're not really strangers! They're the Avengers! That's who lives next door." Amy's heart dropped to the floor. Bucky was sure to be among them. Did he figure out who Rebecca was? Did any of the others figure it out?

"How long ago?" Amy asked.

"About two hours ago." Kaylee answered. Amy sighed.

"You're fired." Amy turned and walked out the door and headed directly next door.

She turned the corner, walking down the side of the cabin, taking deep breaths while trying to steady her nerves. She heard the voices first before she saw them. Bucky, Steve, Natasha and Rebecca were kicking a soccer ball around the back yard. Steve kicked the ball a little harder than necessary, making Natasha and Rebecca chase after it and Bucky stumble back in laughter. Amy's heart stopped as did her breathing when she saw him. Bucky felt eyes on him and turned his head in her direction. His smile faltered as he looked at her, then back to Rebecca, his suspicions of her being his daughter were beyond confirmed. He looked back to Amy and walked purposefully to her. Amy froze where she stood, afraid of what he was going to do to her but too afraid to move as small tears fell down her cheeks thinking of how much time had passed. His smile lines had gotten slightly deeper, there were dark circles under his eyes now. The wrinkles in his forehead were deeper as well and there was some gray in his beard. His body was larger and clearly stronger now. As he took his last few steps towards her, the fear finally reached it's peak and she covered her mouth, shaking, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I was so afraid," Amy cried as Bucky took his last steps in front of her. He pulled her into his arms, burying his face into the crook of her neck, "It's alright, it's alright. I understand." He pulled away, holding her face in his hands and looking deep into her eyes, "I know why you left, I know. I was never angry with you, I couldn't be." He leaned his forehead on hers, "I still love you, Doll." Amy let go of a heavy breath and looked into his eyes again.

"I took your daughter from you," she cried.

"No, no, you kept her safe," he corrected, "You thought she wasn't safe and you went to the ends of the earth to make sure she was safe. Do you have any idea how much I love you for that?" Bucky's eyes misted over, "I wish my mother had the strength you did. She let my Pop beat her and us kids because she didn't have the strength to leave. I took the brunt of his anger so he wouldn't take it out on my sister. I took hit after hit for her and my mother never kept us safe." He looked deeper into her eyes, bending his knees so he was closer to her level, "You didn't take my daughter from me, you kept our daughter safe. I loved you then and I love you now, that never stopped, neither did my love for our daughter." Amy fell fully into his arms, feeling that safety she once knew before her past fears crept back into her mind, lying to her that Bucky would hurt her or their daughter and she cried. Bucky pet her hair and kissed the top of her head while he held her. "She's beautiful," Bucky finally said and Amy pulled back, smiling, "Yes, she is."

"Rebecca?" Bucky smiled after kissing her small, soft fingers.

"Heh, yeah. I named her after your sister." Amy looked back down, her smile dropping. "Does she know?" Amy asked.

"No, I wasn't going to tell her if you weren't ready," Bucky replied. Amy pulled away, only getting two seconds to really look at Bucky before he said her name and kissed her soft lips. Their lips moved together as if no time had passed at all and she opened her mouth to let him in, tears flowing from her eyes and him trying and failing to hold his tears back. His arms wound tightly around her waist and his left hand was in her hair, reminding her of the safety his arms, body and even his training provided. He pulled away from her for air, kissing her forehead, "Should we tell her? I think she likes me," he said. Amy let out a small laugh, grinning at his joke and he kissed the back of her hand, "I think we should." Bucky smiled, kissing her one more time before he took her hand and guided her into the back yard where Uncle Steve was now carrying little Rebecca upside down over his shoulder and smiling at the once lost, now found daughter of the Avengers.
