You woke up the next morning, of course just wanting to go back to sleep like always. Groaning, you got out of bed, changed, ate, brushed your teeth, finished the rest of your morning routine and headed out. Your parents would leave earlier for work so usually, you would not see them in the mornings.

Waking out the door, you stopped in your tracks when you saw him. Oikawa. 'He really is persistent.' You laughed at your thoughts, seeing him standing in front of your house.

"Hey (Y/N)! I though I would walk you to school today." Oikawa grinned and winked, also showing you a thumbs up.

You laughed a little and sighed. "Okay but if your fangirls see me, you're responsible for protecting me." You joked, nudging him as the both of you walked side by side to school.

"They aren't THAT bad. They just have a deep admiration for me. That's all." Oikawa 'reassured'. You scoffed and shook your head.

"If they actually liked you, maybe they would consider your passion for volleyball and not just your looks." You shrugged. Was that too much? You were not sure but all the girl would talk about is Oikawa's looks and how 'cool' he is.

Oikawa had to keep himself from groaning. This was not going as planned. He knew that she was right. Anytime he even considered getting close to a girl, they just wanted him to step away from volleyball which he definitely would not do. After all, volleyball is his passion, but knowing how all the girls liked him definitely boosted his ego. "Anyway...not talking about them, do you want to come to practice after school?" The tall male questioned you.

You felt a knot in your stomach when you heard him say that. Going to watch practice? It might make you a bit emotional. Two years ago during a game, you injured you leg, no longer able to play volleyball. Sure you could have fun, do some things casually but playing in an actual game and practicing intensely? That would only make it worse. Overall, you had to quit. At first you were not going to give up but you were only hurting yourself more and more. The doctor had said multiple times that you needed to quit, and after so long, your leg did not give you a choice.

"Hmm, (Y/N)?" You heard Oikawa's voice call out to you. Snapping out of your trance, you gulped and nodded, smiling ever so slightly.

"Y-yeah sure. I'll come." You told yourself you would have to get over this eventually. It had already been two years and you were still sulking on this, but volleyball was your ultimate passion.

"Aww is (Y/N) finally getting flustered?" He teased after hearing you stutter slightly.

"Yeah, sure." Sarcasm was dripping from your comment when you both arrived at the school gates. "I'll see you after school at your practice." You hit his back and then walked off to your first class.

Eventually it was after school and you walked over to the gym. Walking in, your face went sour when you saw him surrounded by fangirls. "Why did he want me to come?" You mumbled to yourself, rolling your eyes.

Behind you, you heard a familiar voice. "Ah (Y/N), haven't seen you in the gym in a long time. What are you doing here?" Turning around, a smile came upon your face.

"Hey Iwaizumi! Haven't seen you around in awhile. And I'm here because your captain wanted me to come." You glanced over at Oikawa and shrugged, then put your attention back on Iwaizumi. "I'm not sure why I even came. I had nothing to do but this sight of these delusional girls..."

"Imagining being around it everyday." Iwaizumi playfully rolled his eyes, giving you a pat on the back. "It won't be too bad. I know how much you miss volleyball. You know how many times I've said you should become a manager for our team?" When (Y/N) had to give up volleyball, for the longest time he tried to convince you to become a manager for the boys team.

"Yeah..." you said quietly. "I thought I should come, maybe it would help me get over what happened."

"Get over what?" Of course you knew that voice as it was Oikawa. You saw that his fangirls were sitting down in the bleachers because practice was going to start. You looked visibly uncomfortable so he quickly changed the subject, scratching the back of his head. "Well anyway, I'm glad you came. Let's start warming up Iwa-Chan!" Oikawa said happily.

"I better be impressed." You teased both of them. Walking over to the bleachers, you sat near the top, not wanting to be around all the fangirls who were squealing over Oikawa.

During practice, you had to say, you were quite impressed with Aobajohsai's team. You have been friends with Iwaizumi for a long time, but have not been to his games since you stopped playing. Your heart twisted a little, feeling guilt wash over you.

Getting up from the bleachers, you walked down the bleachers, feeling your leg hurt a little. 'Of course it's going to hurt while I watch volleyball.' The thought made you upset but went on and ignored the pain. Waving to Iwaizumi on the way out, you were going to wave to Oikawa because he is the one who invited you but he was surrounded by his typical fangirls. You chuckled a bit, seeing that fake smile on his face. "Poor Oikawa." You said to yourself, trying not to laugh.

Walking out of the gym, you went to the gates of the school, figuring you would wait for Oikawa to walk out so you could thank him for inviting you, as you were just wanting to be polite. In all honestly though, you were thankful, feeling as of this is helping you get over the past.

After a bit of waiting, you watched as his fangirls would leave the school and eventually his teammates but not Oikawa. He never came.

Walking back over to the gym, you peeked your head through the door, seeing him practice by himself, but not too much later, he slams the volleyball on the ground, having an angry look at his face. The male looked down at his right knee. His injured right knee that he felt like was holding him back "Why did I have to hurt myself." He huffed, picking up the ball and continuing to practice.

After a bit, you decided to step in. Walking in the gym, you grabbed Oikawa's shirt. "You're only going to hurt yourself more if you never give yourself a break." You gulped, looking down at his wrapped knee.

"(Y/N)?" His quiet voice to echoed through the empty gym. He tried his best not to get frustrated. He needed to be his 'normal' self. "Okay, how about I walk you home hmm?" He shifted his look and his voice to more playful. It was almost scary seeing how quickly he changed. You felt bad, you knew how he felt. What it felt like to not be good enough, that you needed to be better but could never get there, but having those thoughts just ruined you even more.

Giving him a sympathetic smile, you nodded and let go of his shirt. Walking out of the gym, the silence felt a bit awkward.

"I'm happy you came to practice today. Did I impress you?" Oikawa winked causing you to laugh a little.

"You actually did impress me today." You confessed. Oikawa really is amazing at volleyball and extremely talented. It would be a waste if he over worked himself and his knee.

"Aww (Y/N)! Looks like you are starting to fall for me. How cute." He teased even more. You laughed and shook your head at his remark but then sighed.

"Hmm maybe so." You said without really thinking. Looking over at him, you saw his face go a bit red at what you said. "Huh? Shouldn't you be used flirty comments? I was just messing with you." Playfully punching his shoulder, he stopped walking.

"(Y/N)!! Don't say things like that." Oikawa whined. He had a pout on his face and he crossed is arms.

'What a baby' you thought, You're the one talking.' You though to yourself, rolling your eyes. Although you did feel warmth grow on your cheeks.

"Hmm well of you are going to tease me, then I might as well do it back." You countered, giving him a cheesy grin.
