When I thought i saw Mia, it wasn't just a mistake. She was there and i saw her again talking to some random guy and getting really touchy with him. I had no idea what was going on.
"Hey." I said approaching her with a smile.
"Hi Leila, how's it going?" She asked after excusing herself as she walked with me to the bar and ordered herself a drink.
"Good. What are you doing here?" I asked.
Okay. She did not look like she broke into this party. She was dressed for the occasion, the colour code and all that.
"I came with Jordan, but apparently he has more important business to deal with than me so he left." She scoffed.
As i was about to say something my went off and it was Jordan? Why was he calling me?
I excused myself to pick up the phone.
"Hello." I said. I could hear a lot of noises and police sirens through the phone. Strange.
"Whoever's phone this is met with an accident. I called a lady but she cut the call a woman first but the hung up, your contact was in recent call logs so i called you. The man has been taken to the city hospital. reach there as soon as possible." The guy on the other side said and my phone slipped from my hands because of the schock.
Never in million years did I think about something like this happening to Jordan.
I quickly called a cab and looked around for Mia but she was nowhere in sight. It seemed like i had to do it alone. I didn't think of saying goodbye to the Knights or even informing Brad. Everything else in the world could go to hell. I didn't give a fuck.
As i was heading out someone called my name, i looked behind to see Connor coming towards me but i didn't have any time, the cab was already outside. I had to make to the hospital as soon as i could.
On my way to the hospital I called Jordan's dad to inform him about the accident and told him to come to the hospital as soon as possible. After all, he was his only family left. And god forbid something ever happens to any of them.
After reaching the hospital, i quickly made the way to the reception.
"There has been an accident a while a ago, where is the patient?" I asked the receptionist.
"The patient has been taken to the ER. It is on the end of this hallway." She said pointing towards the right side. But before i could go there, she asked who i was and told me to fill in some forms.
As I made my way towards the end of the hallway, i saw a nurse coming out of the ER.
"Is- is he alright? Can I see him?" I asked with panic clearly being heard in voice.
"You can't see him yet, he has been taken to the OT and is undergoing a surgery at the moment." She said and walked away in a hurry.
I sat on the chairs outside the OT and waited for George to arrive. And unfortunately he was out of town for a while and it was going to take him at least two hours to reach. I sat there weeping silently as i remembered the horrible time when mom was here.
It was the same hospital, where my mom was getting her treatment done. After she passed away here in the same hospital, I was more scared for Jordan. Those bad memories could never fade away. I hated hospitals more than anything else.
"Leila! Are you alright?" I heard and i looked up to see Connor.
"I am scared. He- he met with an accident. I can't lose him too." I cried and he rushed towards me. He sat next trying to calm me down as he hold my trembling hands.
"Calm down Leila."He said and fetched me a cup of water.
I had sip of water and tried to get my breathing under control.
"Now tell me what happened." He said.
"Jordan. He met with an accident. The doctors are doing an operation and i- i don't know his condition." I managed to speak.
"Don't worry, he'll be alright. I called Brad he is on his away." He said and i felt tiny bit better knowing that Brad was going to be here.
Talking of Brad, i completely forgot about Mia, i should have called her own my way too. After all, she is his girlfriend.
She picked her phone on the third ring and said "What?" in an irritated tone.
"Mia you meed to come to the city hospital as soon as possible, Jordan has got into an accident." I said.
"Oh come on! Not you too. How more pathetic can he be. Now he's asking you to lie and guilt trip me into apologising. I didn't expect this from you Leila." She said and cut the call. I felt like a heard a a man's voice behind and her giggle. But that could be anyone, right?
After a while Brad arrived and I was relieved to see him.
"What happened? I hurried here as soon as Connor told me about Jordan. How is he?" He asked and i broke into tears once again.
"I don't know." I said shaking my head. "I don't know." I repeated.
"Don't worry. He'll be fine." He said hugging me close to him and slightly rocking me back and forth.
George arrived after an hour and to say he was scared would be an understatement, hell even i was more than terrified. His only family, his only son was suffering between life and death. The doctors still weren't done and there was no news. We did not know how bad the accident was or how on earth did this even happen.
The operation continued for another hour and the doctors came out looking tired.
"How is my son? Is he alright?" George asked springing up from his place.
"The surgery has been finished without any complications but the chances of recovery are fifty-fifty. We can't say anything at the moment." The doctor said and George fell back into his chair.
"It was my mistake. I told him to go the party, the poor boy just wanted to spent some quality time with his girlfriend." He said with tears in his eyes.
The pain he was feeling was much more worse than any kind of physical pain one could feel. I knew because i has gone through it. And it was something i wouldn't even wish for my enemies.
And you know, what was worse? The fact that Mia wasn't here. She should have been the first one to arrive.
And you know, what was the worst? The fact that she would sleep in someone else's arms tonight.
