"You told me it was a birthday party, i did not know your family would invite the whole America and half of the Europe." I said slowly to Brad as we made our way inside the huge hotel hall, where the party was held.

"Well, you've be to a lot of parties like this before." He said. Of course. And i absolutely hated these kind of gatherings where you had to pretend you like people even though you actually don't.

"Yeah, but you don't know more than half of the women here hate me." I said as i looked around at the people. There sure was every single person who was related to the business world.

"Why would you say that?" He asked.

"Because when you were away, i had a complete transformation into a bitch with red hair. And you don't know how many times I've spilled wine on these women's designer dresses by mistake." I replied faking smiling at the people around me.

"I like the red hair tho." He comment.

When he told it was his sister's birthday party, i thought it would be a small gathering with all hearts and flowers and pink sugar candies. But no, it was full blown party, where everyone was invited and the dress code of the party was BLACK. I mean okay. If she likes it than who am i someone to say anything . But i had yet to meet his sister, Anna.

Brad spotted his family and dragged me quickly with him towards them. His mother looked gorgeous. She always did but today it was a different GORGEOUS. And his father looked quite good too.

"Hi Leila, it's nice to see you again. Glad you came." His father said when he noticed our presence and Brad hugged his mom first followed right after by his dad meanwhile Katherine and I greeted each other.

Not long after, Connor arrived with Emily by his side. They were for sure dating by now. Otherwise he wouldn't have brought her with him.
That kid was barely seventeen and he looked no less than a model whereas when i was seventeen i could barely even make up and outfit properly.

"Leila! I am so happy to see you. You look wonderful." He said as he kissed my cheek and i looked at him curiously as he whispered "Brad is gonna lose his shit tonight."

"Okay enough, you have a girlfriend already. Leave someone for me at least." Brad said pulling him back than hugged him and Connor chuckled.

"You look pretty Emily." I said to Emily who stood there awkwardly. I could understand the situation she was in. It can be a real pain in the ass when you don't know half the people around you are aliens.

"Thank you Ms. Adams, you too look good yourself." She replied.

"Man, it took me long enough to get Connor to stop saying Ms. Adams. I am not doing this again with you." I whined and she laughed at me.

Soon after, the lights were dimmed and the spotlight was focused on the staircase from where a girl in early twenties with pink hair descended down. It had to be Anna.

"God! She hates me." Emily whispered to me as she walked towards us.

The first person she looked at when she came downstairs was Brad, who was standing right next to me with a smile on his face. Siblings.

"Happy Birthday sissy." He wished him as he pulled her into a bone shattering hug.

"One more second and you could have killed me."She said as they parted away and her eyes fell on me.

"Happy Birthday Anna. I am Leila." I said and she came forward to hug me. I think everyone in this family likes hugging.

"You mean the Leila." She said as she looked at Brad teasingly with a half smirk.

When Brad told me, she caused more trouble than Connor I had imaged some spoiled blondie who always had her nails and hair done and only wore designer clothes and high heels and whined for small reasons. But she was completely different. I didn't imagine a girl with piercings and pink hair. It was her party where people were wearing gowns and beautiful dresses whereas she had a pair of completely ripped black jeans with a T-shirt and a leather jacket with studs on with a pair of black boots. But she still managed to look bad ass. The Knights never looked Bad.

You need to stop judging people, Leila.

"Yeah, but I am not really sure what you mean by the Leila." I chuckled awkwardly.

"Connor has told me a lot about you." She said and I facepalmed instantly. If Connor was the narrator of my character to Anna than she hated me too.

"Don't worry, all good things i promise." Connor butted in. Anna smiled at him and went away to her parents completely ignoring Emily. Poor girl.

"What's her deal with you?" I whisper-asked Emily.

"I don't know. She is complicated." She said rolling her eyes and went away dragging Connor along with her.

After a while, Connor left too to mingle with the guests and i got myself a glass of red wine when Katherine came towards me.

"I don't hate you or anything Leila but I don't think you have any intentions of getting back with my son. And I want to see him happy and i clearly don't see that when you're around him. It's like he's trying to be someone he's not when he's with you. Please if you want to see him happy and be happy yourself, go away from him." She said leaving me completely shell shocked.

Okay, That was RANDOM. Out of nowhere. I stood there for good minutes trying to put her words together and process what she just told me. God!

Looks like you're not the only one to who likes to judge people. You got company Leila.

From the corner of my eyes i saw Mia. But i think I might have been mistaken because what would she do here? But knowing Mia, she could've even crashed the the party. But i am pretty sure she wouldn't have come here. She would have gone to a college party but definitely not here.

"Hey." I turned around to Anna standing behind me with a glass of alcohol in her hand.

"Hi, i got you something." I said digging into my small purse and handed her what i had gotten her.

"Thank you. This is something I can definitely use. People would get you shitty perfumes and watches but this is something i can really use." She said putting the gift card in her pocket and i smiled politely at her. I didn't really knew her so i didn't know what she like so that's why i got her a gift card.

"Don't mind what mom just said to you, i think Amanda's mother filled her ears with some crap." She said and left.

Weird.
