Chapter 34 ~ Catching Waves

I was in the middle of a great chapter of my book when I heard the downstairs door close. I didn't want to put the book down, so I yelled down.

"Anthony? Is that you?"

I heard a small laugh.

"Yep."

"I'm in your room still."

"Okay, I'm coming up."

I heard him coming up the stairs, so I started to read faster. Soon enough, he cane inside.

"Oh, that's why you didn't come down yourself . Too deep into a chapter?"

We both giggled.

"Yeah. I got this book when I first went to New York, and I can't put it down."

"I just finished a good one last night. Anyway, do you wanna go catch some waves? It's a perfect way for it."

"Oh yeah! Can we stop at one of the shops first, though? I need a new one because my other one is in Josh's car."

"Yeah let's go."

We walked over to one of the shops and I picked out a purple board with a tropical flower on it. It looked just like the one on my necklace.

   Then we headed down to the beach.

"I've been working on my surfing skills since you left, Mag."

"Oh really?"

"You bet. I won't be falling off so much anymore."

"We'll see about that."

"I'm telling you, I've improved. I'm at least at your level now."

"Well let's go find out!"

I started to run towards the ocean. As I did, I took off my black jacket that was over my yellow bathing suit, laughing. Anthony started to laugh too, and he took off his shirt.

I was in the part of the ocean that only covers your feet and I was running to go further when Anthony surprised me and picked me up from behind. He twirled me around while we were both laughing and placed me behind him.

"I'm gonna get out there before you!"

"No you're not! Get back here!"

We were laughing and having a great time racing each other with our boards trying to beat one another.

Anthony got there first.

"See, I told you."

"Hey, you only got there because you cheated!"

"All's fair in war my lady."

We started laughing again. It was so nice to be floating in our boards and having fun together.

"Fine you do win. Congratulations."

I stuck my hand out to shake his.
