>>Missing<<
I came back to my room with a bag full of animal crackers, but only to find Elizabeth missing.
As I searched for any sign that Elizabeth was still there, I found a note lying near the corner of my desk, about to fall but I caught it swiftly.
I read it and smirked, worrying about absolutely nothing.
Putting the note inside my packet, I put the bag of crackers on the table. The smell of smoke entered my sensitive nose and I clutched my nose, blocking out the horrid smell. Was there a fire?
I walked around in cirlce, trying to find the trace of the smell when I ended up next to my bed and looked down. The carpet had a black stain smudged deep inside. My eyebbrows furrowed.
Suddenly, I felt warm liquid leak down my nose and drop on the floor. Horrified, I touched my nose, looked at it, and realized my nose was bleeding. The dark, red blood oozed down my fingers, looking like a horror movie.
I ran to the bathroom, grabbed a tissue, and plugged it up my nose as I washed my hand. The blood oozing drained into the pipes as I sighed satisfyingly.
My feet seemed to automatically come back to the spot where the carpet was burnt and I touched it. At first, it seemed almost cold, but it accelerated quickly into heat and burned my hand.
"ARRGGH!" I hissed as I stumbled back, rubbing my hand.
The strangest thing had just happened. The whole world seemed to spin gradually like a top, and I became dizzy but maintaining my balance.
I heard screams... my screams because of Jackie. I heard myself vowing to her, I heard the time when I first met the Jacksons... It all seemed to buzz in my ears until the world finally stopped spinning.
I felt something hard being pressed on my back and it dawned to me that I was lying down on cement, very cold cement.
I tried to get up, but couldn't, it almost seemed as if I were frozen. My heart didn't beat, my eyes didn't blink, my chest wasn't rising and falling from breathing, and... nothing, there were no movement, it was like I was dead. The only thing that seemed to work were my ears. They were keen, sharp at any noise.
"You're impossible. I can't do this! Do you honestly expect me to barge into the Jackons' mansion?" A boyish-like voice scoffed. Who was the boy? Where was I?
"You will do as I say, no exceptions! I despise you filthy humans... breaking promises, horrible liars, horrid lives... I have only given you one simple task you weak cockroach" The voice screeched. The boy fell silent. The voice sounded so familiar, and the words that they use were so relatable to somebody I knew...
The boy began crying, howling, screeching in pain. I winced from the sound. It was so intense, so horrifying. The screeching pierced my ears, making it worse from my keen hearing, I could hear his emotion, his feeling. He was miserable. Can't the person who was doing this stop?!
Finally, the boy's screeching stopped, what followed was a silent sob. "Please... please, please don't make me do this. Please stop. Please" He choaked.
"Never... now, go, bond with the Jacksons and make sure you affect Aria. She is our target, don't you eve forget that" The tart voice huffed. I heard a swish of wind, and the world began spinning again.
My eyes drifted open, and I found myself still in my room, but lying face down on the carpet. The burnt was gone, and everything seemed normal.
I couldn't stop thinking about the voice and the boy who was being threatened. The voice sent gave me chills. It sounded like... Jackie almost. The way it formed its words, the way it threatened, it threatened forcefully, like Jackie. Maybe it was her?
I stood up and touched my nose. The bleeding was gone, but the blood was dried up.
My legs dashed to the bathroom and I turned on the sink's faucet, feeling cold water splash between my fingers. I cupped my hands, capturing the water and I dipped my face on the water and rubbed my hands all over my face, making it clean.
I looked up, and the mirror made me scream my lungs out.
A little girl appeared to beside me, holding a bloody knife with a mischevious, wide grin that etched across her face. My eyes widened as I looked beside me. There was nobody there. My eyes darted back tot he mirror, and the little girl was gone.
I breathed heavily, my heart still pounding with fear. Was I hallucinating? Probably not, I've seen a ghost already and there was no doubt a ghost had popped beside me.
My shaky hands reached for a towel and I rubbed my face dry, still processing the fact that I had just seen a ghost in the mirror that scared the living wits out of me.
Soothingly gulping, I walked back to my room and sat on my bed. It was getting pretty dark outside, nighttime.
Sighing, I decided to just collapse in bed and sleep. After all, it was an exhausting day... probably everyday.
Wrapping the blankets around myself, I kept the lights on, frightened that there might be ghosts stalking me.
I pulled the blankets further on top of me until it reached my eyes. Slowly... and very slowly, I drifted to sleep, wondering what the voice and the boy was. Something was missing...
