>>Midnight Masquerade Ball<<

When someone says a ball, I always thought of some sort of modern party with a bunch of gowns and dresses... but I guess I was incorrect.

The moment I stepped out of the limo- apparently this family were stars-, the scene of the Rubie Museum was explosively royal. It basically screamed the word "Royalty".

Gaping, we all walked inside in an orderly fashioned. It was 10:00 p.m. and I already felt sleepy. I shoved the sleepiness away, afraid to ruin everyone's night as we were all greeted.

The room was full of music, other people, tables, and all sorts of food.

The family walked through several hallways until we reached a huge room that had a high ceiling. The room was full of music, other people, tables, and all sorts of food. Statues with their own platforms laid on each corner while glass cases covered rubies that looked old but beautiful. The floor was glassy or it was probably just my heels that I was struggling to walk in. A huge space was planted in the center of the room, probably where we all dance. Surrounding the dance floor-as I called it- were huge round tables with plates, napkins, candles, and many more on it. Each seemed to be reserved for a specific family.

"Ah... the Jacksons! I'm very pleased that you have arrived! Please... let me escort you to your table, right this way..." A tall man with a tuxedo escorted us to a huge table with chocolates all over it.

"Madam will meet you shortly... meanwhile, please enjoy the ball. Have a lovely night" The man slowly walked away in the middle of bowing.

Stephen chuckled as he slapped Allyza's back.

"What?" I whispered to Joseph as he was chuckling also. "The man winked at Allyza and Stephen is laughing because the man has the nerve to hit on her when the husband's the real boss" Joseph explained as if it were normal... probably because he was a wallflower after all.

Before I could reply, a family approached us, waving cheerfully.

Allyza noticed them and jumped forward eagerly, hugging them all. "Elle! My goodness, I can't believe you actually made it!" Allyza exclaimed, hugging Elle again.

"Well," she bragged, "my husband owns a personal plane for us all, just a tiny plane. Ever since we got the invitation we prepared in advance!"

Joseph was now in uncontrollable laughter where his face was pink and he needed to clasp his mouth tightly shut. I stared at him in confusion. He pointed towards another table.

I looked where he was pointing at and blushed deeply. A blonde-haired boy stared at me in a flirty way and even waved kindly.

I waved back shyly and returned back to looking at my table.

"I see you've already met Apollo" Allyza mused, sipping wine from her glass.

"Who's Apollo?" I asked, biting my lip as I felt his stare permanently being planted on me.

"Well, he's a member of our family who is also adopted. I've heard you've been adopted to the Jackson's, eh?" Elle proclaimed. I nodded.

My head had the urge to look back at the boy, but only to find that he was already standing next to me, his left arm planted around my shoulders as he sat down. This put me in a downright mood, did I give him permission to do that?

"Hey Mrs. Jackson" Was the only thing Apollo said and stared at me again. My cheeks began to flush when I felt his hot breath at my face.

Stephen smiled in amusement.

Apollo cocked his head toward the dance floor while looking at Stephen and Stephen nodded while sipping his wine.

Before I could ask what that meant, Apollo offered me a hand and we both stood up. He lead me toward the dance floor and I stopped halfway there.
