He had come back extremely late from the restaurant. Well, it was nothing more than a few minutes past ten o'clock, but for him, it was already way too late. He's used to getting a long night of sleep. But tonight had been different, not only did he get a minimum of five hours of sleep, but he had also been tormented by someone having the nerve to constantly invade his dreams.
He was furious, if it wasn't already enough, surfacing his mind 24/7, now the only time he could finally have some peace, had been rudely disturbed. It was like he was being punished.
He heavily signed and threw the white sheets off his body and finally got out of bed. He felt tired, and for some reason, he couldn't stop thinking about his dream.
He felt joy, deep down he wanted to go back to sleep and feel that emotion again. It was strange. Simply looking back on it warms up his heart.
Cristiano attempted to send these tormenting thoughts to the back of his head by aggressively splashing his face with cold water.
He shot his head up in annoyance when he heard two soft knocks at the door. He quickly put on some clothes and went over to open it. Finding no one either than the cause of this frustration.
"Hi..." she says shyly. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to disturb you."
"What is it." He didn't fully understand why he was suddenly being cold towards her.
Melissa was a bit taken back by his harsh tone but tried to hide it. "Clary woke up this morning not feeling very well." she looked down, just now Cristiano was able to see the worry stamped on her face.
"What's wrong?" The footballer asked, also feeling a certain concern.
"She has a little bit of fever... I didn't want to disturb you with this, but I really need to buy her some medicine."
"Melissa, you're not disturbing me." He thinks for a while, before finally making his way towards the room where Clary was.
Cristiano lands his eyes on her tiny body laying on one of the beds. He approaches her and delicately rests his hand on her forehead, Junior was laying beside her.
"How are you feeling princess." he calmly questions, it amazed Melissa how quickly his mood changes.
Clary shrugs her shoulders. Cristiano glances at the nervous babysitter standing observing them. "I'll be back in a second." He announced and left, leaving a confused and upset Melissa behind. He hadn't exactly given her an answer on whether she could go buy the medicine or not.
He returned a few minutes later with a plastic bag in his hands. When Cristiano told the manager he urgently needed medicine for someone with a fever. In a matter of seconds, a huge variety of that specific medicine was made available for him. He didn't even know which one to choose.
"She'll be okay." He says after Melissa helped Clary drink the paracetamol.
"Thank you for bringing the medicine." He nods and watches the two in bed. He knew he needed to leave.
"Sir I believe you have training now. The match is set in a couple of hours." Melissa comments.
"Dad, I don't want to leave her." Junior was willing to miss his dad's champions league match to stay with his best friend.
"I'll only play at three. I'll go now, and send someone to pick you up later. If she isn't better by then, stay here." Melissa smiles and agrees. Cristiano seals his son's forehead with a kiss and does the same with Clary. He practically ignores Melissa, only sparing a quick look before exiting through the door.
The footballer had decided to stay away from Melissa as much as he could. It was the correct thing to do.
Cristiano got everything ready and left the hotel with the team to the German stadium. It was packed already, filled with screaming fans, shouting <<hala Madrid y nada más>> and other encouraging words. It felt good to know they weren't the only ones that still believed they could turn this around.
