The teen had never been in a helicopter before, only observed them from a distance, and acted like a kid in a candy shop as soon as he entered, wanting to press all the buttons and pull all the levers just to see what they did.
"SIT DOWN." Finally, the man, who's name was General Young (as Micah found out) was at his last straw, and lashed out at the boy, who sat down in his seat sheepishly.
"Sorry…" he muttered, and bit his lip before staring out the window as they flew out over the midnight sky. The city looked so pretty at night, but he had only seen it from the tops of buildings, never from this high in the sky, which made it look like the bulbs on a tree at Christmastime.
"We'll be there in five, so just sit tight, alright kid?" General Young said, a slightly less sharp tone to his voice now.
"Yes sir."
The general kept true to his word, and no more than five minutes later they had landed on top of a building that was seemingly in the middle of the woods. As they excited the aircraft, a tall, slender woman who was adorned in a white lab coat was standing atop the helipad, her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised.
"You're late, Young." Was all she said before she took Micah's shoulder and led him down several flights of stairs, causing him to start to think about GreEN. Had he been left on the rooftop of his apartment building, or had the General taken him with him? "This way, Micah - I doubt you want to go into the Radioactive Testing Unit." The male had been so deep in his thoughts that he had continued going straight instead of following the woman, causing him to blush and laugh slightly before running after her. Soon, they found themselves in a medical lab, with a mechanical stretcher in one corner and various tables in the other, reminding him of his now decimated lab back home.
"What are we doing here?" He asked, and the woman gestured towards the stretcher, as if he was supposed to lay down on it.
"Lay down here," she voiced his thoughts, "Roll up your right sleeve, and close your eyes." Micah had always been sensitive about his right shoulder, for that was the shoulder that had an embarrassing green mark on it, a mark that had been slashed through and now sported a jagged scar from GreEN. However, he complied, and soon everything went numb and he was sent spiraling into darkness.
