3rd POV

Gaster and Fira faced each other, neither moving an inch. What was once a picnic was about to be a battle zone. This was the day when the two settled their differences once and for all. Gaster sent the first attack. A barrage of bones that destroyed the table where their friends once sat. Fira responded by launching her magic hands to catch and destroy the attack. Gaster summoned his magic hand to stop hers. The magic hands on both sides now interlocked and struggling for an upper hand (pun intended). Fira launched her own bone attack, that Gaster countered with a Blaster. Both sides finally ran at each other. Gaster used a long bone as a bow staff. Fira used two bones as duel katanas. The weapons clashed at each other. Both fighting with the intent to kill. They also tried to blast each other apart with the Blasters, but neither seemed to gain the upper hand.

Meanwhile

A good mile away Sans, Paps, and their friends watched. All with a different emotion. Alphys and Frisk watched in fear. Asgore couldn't comprehend what was happening. Undyne watched in awe. Toriel and Paps watched with worry. Sans watched in understanding. This battle, he felt, was necessary. A way for the two to finally understand each other. It had to play out. They couldn't stop them. "This must stop!" Toriel spoke up. "Nah. Let it play out." Sans said. Tori looked at him with surprise. "But your father and sister are trying to kill each other!"
"We couldn't stop them even if we wanted to. They are the most powerful monsters I know." Sans had Toriel there. They couldn't stop it. They would have to wait.

Back at the Battle

They were locked in combat. Both were just starting to tire, but it would still be along time before they were exhausted. The sun was starting to set signifying that they had been at this since noon. The battle field started to grow as they used teleportation in an attempt to gain the upper hand. Yet they still seemed to be evenly matched.

Back at the Group

Everyone had since went home. Despite her fear Frisk was exhausted. So the Dreemurr family was the first to leave. Alphys and Undyne left next. Both had work the next day. Paps and Sans were the last to leave. Both were hesitant to, but Paps also had work. So the Gaster brothers left as well. "SANS..?"
"Yea bro?"
"YOU DONT THINK THEYLL KILL EACH OTHER.. DO YOU?"
"Nah. They won't."
"BUT FIRA HATES DAD.. WHAT IF.... SHE........KILLS....HIM.."
"Fira also loves us. She would put her hate aside for us. Trust me."
"I DO BROTHER, I DO."

Back at the Battlefield

It was around 1 in the morning. Gaster was the first to give out. Fira tripped the older skeleton and placed her foot on his chest. He looked up at her in surprise and exhaustion. "Do what you feel is right Fira. I won't blame you." His head then fell as he went unconscious. Fira was tempted to kill him. She really was.. but Sans and Papyrus adored him and as much as she hated to say it.. she did too. She could no longer hate him. He had truly changed for the better and he had proven it time and time again. So she picked him up and slung his arm over her shoulders. She used the last of her energy to teleport to the house.

Sans POV

I walked downstairs the next day to see the last thing I was expecting. Dad was on the fast asleep. Curled up on top of him was Fira. "Wow! Not what I was expecting."
"BROTHER! FATHER AND SISTER ARE GETTING ALONG!"
"Paps. Didn't hear ya come down." I noticed some movement on the couch and noticed dad was stirring.

Gaster POV

There was a pressure on my body as I woke up. I opened my sockets looked over and.. Fira was curled on my chest. She seemed to be sleeping peacefully too. I got over my initial shock and placed a hand on her back. I smiled and looked over at Sans. "She decided not to kill me after all."
"Looks like." Sans replied. "ILL GO MAKE A CELEBRATORY BREAKFAST!" Paps ran to the kitchen. I heard Fira let out a sigh of content. "Finally." I sighed. "Progress."

Time skip

I've been laying here forever. Fira would not wake up and I couldn't move. I thought it was best to let sleeping skeleton wolves lie. Papyrus had went to work long ago and Sans.. I don't know where he went. Might as well sleep as well..

Fira POV

I woke up on Gaster.. er.. dad I guess. He was asleep and I could feel his arm on my back. Huh. I got off him and looked at him. I sighed. "I forgive you." I muttered to his sleeping form. That was the absolute truth.
