I ship this for SO MANY REASONS! Such as Clay's probably the only one that can touch Peril (unless maybe flamesilks can touch her too... that and Turtle's spell thing).
They are so cute together! Clay is always just so baffled and confused while Peril is chaotic and awkward. I love it.
They benefit from each other; Peril becomes a less violent dragon because of Clay, and Peril is brave/willing to fight when Clay doesn't know how.
Some people argue that this ship is borderline obsession, and I guess that is a good argument. BUT Peril changes! Towards the end of her book, she begins making good decisions without thinking about how it would make Clay feel. She is becoming her own dragon now. Clay just helped her get on the right path.
Also people argue against the scene where she tries to kill him and betrays him and stuff, but listen. She had just found the ONE DRAGON ALIVE who was willing to treat her nicely, so she wanted him to stay so she wouldn't be lonely. Also, she only fought him because that was the only thing she knew how to do.
And can we talk about the scene where she saved Clay from a dragonbite viper? Is that not literally just the most heroic thing ever? I love it :)
And they have the cutest ship moment at the end of book 10, and I feel like Tui is going to make it cannon! Do it Tui! It's worth it!
So yea. 10/10 ship.
