I lay on my back, still in the hospital gown checking every second as it passes by. Edward left an hour ago saying he'd be back in a minute. The needles ticked by and I was losing my patience. I jumped out of bed and went towards the door. The translucent glass window at the top centre of the door let people know that the corridor light was on. I slowly opened the door and scanned the area. The corridor which had been chirping with people just a few hours ago was completely deserted. I closed the door as slowly as I could before making my way to the other end of the corridor. On my way, I found a poster on the wall which had all the timings of the patients. According to the chart, the roaming hours of the patients was from 7pm-9pm. I pulled up my wrist to check the time.
"Shit my watch's still in my room."
But the great silence that had invaded the corridors said that the timing was probably up. So if someone catches me outside right now, I maybe in trouble...............or I could just say I wanted to use the bathroom. A hand pressed against my left shoulder making me jump backwards shaken up from my thoughts.......
It was a nurse...in her usual blue uniform. She was tall and skinny like a bone and had a really sharp nose that looked like it could slice a doughnut in half."Umm...hii... ", I said looking from side to side. She was really close to me and I stood only upto her neck. Her face was edged close to mine from above and her nose stood high like a proud knight.
"Back to your room, mademoiselle", she spat.
I had no idea what the last word meant but I hurried into my room and closed the door behind me. I stood there for several minutes until I heard her footsteps going farther away. I picked up my mobile from the tray and called Edward.
"The number your trying to call is currently unavailable. You may leave a message or call back later", the mobile said for the hundredth time.
I threw it on the cot in frustration and looked out the window. It was getting dark increasing my fear more and more, like the hours were slipping away slowly.

The next day...
Edward came rushing through the doors with two other men beside him. They looked like official securities." Meghan, I've got you the cctvs from the day of the murder. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to attend your calls. I really thought this would be easy but there's some other big shits going on out there. They've found two more bodies rotting under the marble tiles in the room you were locked in."
The men on either side of him nodded simultaneously.
"What? Edward I've got to hurry. I can't stay in here anymore. I must find something before everything gets out of hand."
"Yea and that's why I've brought them", Edward said pointing at the two guards as they bowed to me.
"What...security guards?", I asked giving a perplexed expression.
"Um...for your information we are police officers ma'am", one of the men said.
"Oops! I'm so sorry... I thought you were...um...."I cleared my throat... " Uh can I see the footages? ", I finally stammered out.
They took me out of the hospital. I was relieved to be at work again. I made my way into a black Nissan GT-R. Within minutes, we had arrived at the factory again.
'Ishibashi Street' the sign read. This was the name of the street the factory was placed.
The police officials led me to the control room.
