I woke up feeling very comfortable, but a little disorientated. It took me a few seconds to realise that I had been sleeping in King Fortlands bedroom. I couldn't remember getting here at all.

He had left the window open, and there was a light summer breeze blowing the curtains. It took me a while to get up; the bed was much too comfy! Once I did I shut the window to keep the drizzle of rain out and went to get dressed in my own room.

On the way, I got stopped by one of the guards I'd seen around and about. He was a young, attractive man with blond hair and a slight strut with the way he walked. "Amelia right?" He asked as he came trudging towards me.

"Yes?" It seemed to come out as a question; none of the guards ever spoke to me except Josh.

"This is for you." He handed me an envelope.

"For me? Why would anyone send me anything?" I sounded as confused as I felt.

"Don't ask me," the guard shrugged and sauntered off.

The envelope was slightly crinkled and my name on the front was smudged from the rain. Curiously, I opened it, and my heart dropped into my stomach as I read it.

I know your secret. Enjoy your time whilst you still have it.

Questions filled my mind. Who sent this? What secret did they mean? Why did they threaten me? Was this even real or could it be a weird joke?

I hid the letter in my pocket, trying to work out what to do about it. I certainly wasn't going to tell anyone. What was the point in worrying anyone with something that was probably a joke?

And technically, it wasn't really a threat so much... they just insinuated a threat. Besides, I wasn't a wimp, I could handle this (whatever this was) on my own!

With a new found confidence, I strode to the have a chat with the maids. It had been a while since I'd seen them, other than in passing, and it was always good for a catch up!

Three days later I was feeling refreshed and revitalised! I'd not forgotten about the note, and I knew that I was a little quieter than usual, but not enough for anyone to notice. I was trying to think of it as some kind of weird prank, but I had this uncomfortable gut feeling that it wasn't.

"What's going on with you and Chris," Ruby said, as I tuned back into the conversation, realising she was talking to me.

"What are you on about?" I replied, getting comfy on the sofa in the maid's common room.

"You know! Tiffany said he fancied you remember? Sooo, has anything happened?" Ruby grinned, always after a bit of gossip.

"Ruby, he was kidnapped just a few days ago, do you really think anything would have happened?" I tried to get the focus off me.

"Well you never know," she sulked. "I still think you'd make a cute couple."

"He is a good friend, that's it," I rolled my eyes.

"Ohh, friend zoned," Charlotte joined in, having just finished her crossword puzzle.

Ruby snickered, "absolutely! Poor Chris! Just been kidnapped and beaten up, and now he's being friendzoned too!"
