Hollow woke up sitting on the floor with a throbbing pain coming from her temple.

"Codename: Hollow. Independent Pilot Assassin operating on the frontier. Wanted for high-profile political assassination. Wanted by the IMC for 162 counts of 1st-degree murder, high-profile assassination, and terrorism. you're pretty good!"

She heard a voice she didn't recognize. Hollow looked up to try and get a look at the man speaking to her, but her eyes refused to focus on his face.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"The name's Blisk. I'm the pilot who beat you."

Hollow instinctively reached for the dagger she kept in her right combat boot but it wasn't there. Suddenly something shiny appeared in front of her eyes. It was her own dagger.

"Ah ah ah. Don't worry. You won't need this anymore."

the man chuckled.

Hollow next tried to reach out to attack the man, but the chains on her wrists stopped her right before she could hit him.

"yeah sorry about the chains. We're gonna have to keep you like this for a little while though. You see, we're currently on the run from IMC forces and we'd rather not be stabbed in the back."

"That would be rather unfortunate, wouldn't it?"

The assassin heard another voice, female this time. This time Hollow strained her eyes to focus and she was able to see the face of the girl speaking. Except, to her surprise, it wasn't a girl. Or at least, not entirely.

"Hello, I'm Ash. I'm one of the few surviving subjects of the simulacrum program. Nice to meet you."

Hollow said nothing in return. Instead, she began to scan the room. She realized she was on an IMC vessel, moving through hyperspace.

Hollow tried to think back to what had happened before she got here, but it was all fuzzy. She knew for sure, however, that her target had escaped. Mentally cursing herself, she decided that she would worry about that later. Right now, she had to get out of this situation.

"Why didn't you just kill me?"

"Because you're no good to me dead."

"And who says I'm any good to you alive?" Hollow replied defiantly.

She didn't know what use she could be to this scumbag, but he was IMC. She would never allow herself to be of any use to them.

Hollow began to struggle against the chains again and when she tugged with her right hand she felt that the chain's anchor was loose. her kidnappers tried to stop her but she kicked the man square in the chest, sending him stumbling backwards.

"Crap!"

She stood up, turned towards her right side, grabbing onto her chain with both of her hands, and using all of her body weight, pulled it free of the wall. The other of her kidnappers tried to grab her arm but dropped and swept her legs out from under her, stealing her sidearm as she fell. Quickly, Hollow shot the other chain, freeing herself and bolted for the door. as she busted out into the hallway she could hear her assailant chuckle behind her

"heh, not bad."

She managed to make it to the other end of the hallway, but when she looked back, no one was following.

That's strange...

Hollow knew she had no time to waste, however. If no one gave chase, all the better. She turned the corner and began running down another corridor, searching for her titan. She opened the next door and was greeted by blinding light coming from a window. Hollow gritted her teeth. They were moving at faster-than-light speed. The beauty of the light of millions of stars passing faster than the eye could see stunned the girl for just a moment.
