chapter 2. The cops

My black lady was owing the roade when the things turned wierd.

I heard the police sirens out of nowhere I think I have invited trouble all by myself.

"Hey you ,stop your car ."the cops said through the mic.

I slowed down the car and parked it along the side of the road.

"What are we going to do now ."Mark asked with tone of fright.

"I will handle it I think. "I responded awkwardly.

"Will you make an effort to get out of the car sir ?" Cops approached the car and asked Mark.

"Well sir techniquely I am not driving you approached the wrong seat ."Mark said looking at me .

I chuckled and said "that's so funny , haha I've got the steering on the other side ."

"Well miss can you please tell me the reason you were overspending? And is this guy your boyfriend?"the cops asked me .

"No no." me and Mark said at the same time .

"He is actually my stepbrother or more precisely my elder stepbrother. "I tried clearing the doubt .

Well Mark is almost of my age and infact he is just six months smaller than me and which apparently makes him my little brother .

"Okay sir , we apologize for overspending actually my older sister passed out during to consumption of some...something which isn't drugs of course ...like she is allergic to chicken and she actua....actually consumed the chicken think it to be lamb's meat and then se passed out to some sort of response to allergie and she is at my aunt's place and she has her car missing some part of engine due to which the car doesn't actually ignites and I need to rush down to pick her up. "I tried making up the things with a lot of fumbling and awkward smiles .

"Yes , Yes "Mark said nodding at me .

"Be careful next time your sister might learn to different between lamb's meat and chicken by then I think ."the cop responded.

"Well thank you sir ."I thanked the officer and pinched Mark.

"Ouch !! Oh thank you sir ."Mark cried and continued to thank the officer .

We thanked the cops and got back on the road .

"Husshh , I finally got out of this "Mark said with placing this hand on chest .

"WE finally got out of this "I tried correcting Mark .

"But well it was you because we actually out into the trouble and it's all your fault. "Mark said .

"Stop blaming me ."I said while still driving the car carefully.

"Well I think you shouldn't drink a lot at the party after all you have to drive us back ." Mark reminded me.

"Well of course, why on earth will I drink."I responded back.

"We are here "I said with musical voice.

Mark chuckled at my voice and I laughed back .

We got out of the car , the music was being played at high volume and I could already see few teens making out on the front couches.

"Okay mark no drugs , no unknown drinks and be safe cause you aren't yet eighteen. "I warned Mark .

"Well same goes to you too Arnelle, cause you aren't eighteen too ."Mark said eith raising left eyebrow.

"Be safe and enjoy your night I will call you make sure to put on the vibration mode on on your phone. "I said with concern .

"Yes ma'am , you too enjoy , be safe from strange boys love you ." Mark said with a dap .

I think Mark has got into his cool avatar.

I got into the party and it was all booming with music , there were all boys and girls doing the weirdest dance I have ever seen , some were at the bar looking for expensive type of drink and the other were playing the most popular game in the party that is ping pong balls .

The house was pretty huge like we can call it as mini mansion or infact it was mansion.

So I was warned not to drink and to be away from strange boys .

Okay so I was making myself prepare for the long term boredom by pulling out my phone and to my surprise the battery was only ten percent now this night is gonna be more awful .
I grabbed a seat near the open swimming pool and the party lights were reflecting back from the pool's surface making it look like nice piece of art .

Near the pool side I saw a rack full of books I grabbed a book which seemed to be some romantic novel and sat on the sun bed in the night full of stars .

I brought the book closer to my nose to smell the beautiful smell of the typical smell that tou get from any random book I count this smell and one of my favorite.

I am not really the reader type but have read few romantic novel before and not to mention twlight was one of them (typically teenager).

"Well nice pick ." I heard a Male voice coming from the side of sun bed .

I turned around to check and it was a guy with brown hair and green eyes looking at me .

"Really , what is the book about . "I asked in serious tone .

"I liked the way you smelled the book , by the way what are you doing here ?"he asked me .

"Well , I am not suppose to drink as I need to ride by siblings back home."I answered genuinely.

"That sounds crazy as fuck ."he said in teasing tone .

"Why is reading a book in a party seems to be uncool ?"I asked with raising eyebrow .
