December 4th

Brushing my hair in the morning before school was still taking time to get used to. I cut it a few weeks ago because I had wanted something different. It was down to the middle of my back, but now it was about shoulder length. Geni and Amanda almost killed me when they saw it because the three of us always had long hair. Geni was the blonde, still straight and always in a bun or ponytail kind of girl. Then there was Amanda, with her black, unruly curls that reached her butt without being straightened. We were the three musketeers of long hair. Until now, of course.

After grabbing a cereal bar and kissing my mom goodbye, I headed out the door and jumped into Amanda's little lemon, quickly shutting the door before all the heat could escape.

"Frick, it's cold outside," I whined, shoving my hands in front of the vents.

"Just be grateful this dumpster fire of a car even has heat," Geni groaned from the back seat, which she always claims so she could lay down. I shook my head, Amanda glaring through the rearview.

"You can walk tomorrow," Amanda threatened, getting a protesting whine.

"I would rather get to school in this than a bus," I chimed in, interrupting the glaring match through the mirror.

"Why would you want to go to school when he is there?" Geni asked, shifting in the back seat. I groaned, smacking the back of my head on the headrest.

"Don't remind me," I said, pinching the bridge of my nose. After what I said to Ross on Saturday, I ended up thoroughly regretting it once I got home. I just willingly threw myself into his world, a world I didn't want to be a part of. But on the plus side, when my mother did end up finding out about the vandalism, I told her I already handled it. So that was checked off my list.

"Did you know that he's on the hockey team?" Geni asked, surprising both Amanda and me with the randomness of the question.

"No..." we both mused, hearing Geni sit up and grab both of our shoulders.

"Well, he is! I found out yesterday when I went to the rink to talk to Coach; the guys were practicing like usual. When they went on break, that fucker with his white hair pulled off a helmet!" Geni cursed, getting way too excited.

"Geni! Language!" Amanda scolded, making me laugh. For an ice skater, Geni had the mouth of a hockey player. She wanted to be in the Olympics, and we always went to her competitions to cheer her on.

"Oh, lighten up. Just because Doll doesn't curse doesn't mean I can't. I'm sure she doesn't mind," Geni said, looking at me. They knew I didn't care, and I didn't understand why they bothered.

"So, what are you gonna do about Mr. Ross Man?" Amanda asked, getting weird looks from me and the blonde.

     "What?" She asked.

"I have no idea," I laughed. Geni sighed and laid back down, pulling out her phone to play a game.

"Well, don't let him get close enough to eat you," Amanda warned, getting a nod in return. Although the moment Geni snorted, I knew what was coming.

"I'd let him eat me if you know what I mean. If you haven't noticed, he does look like he wants to eat you. My guess is that it's not in a cannibalistic type of way," she muttered as we turned into the school parking lot. Amanda and I gasped.

"Geneva!" We both yelled, getting a loud cackle. I shook my head, looking out the window to hide my crimson cheeks. Soon getting out of the car, I slung my pack over my shoulder while shutting the door.
