Chapter Twelve

Riku's POV

"JUST GO HOME!" I yelled harshly at Sora. I saw how much my words hurt Sora. And it was hurting me.
But I have to make sure he stops coming after me, or else Xemnas might hurt him. So the only way is to be mean... it hurts me but... I have to do it.

I turn and walk to the other side of the clock tower. Then I heard him sob.
I peek and look at him. He was on his knees crying. Like actually sobbing. My heart shattered seeing him like this.
Sora...
I'm sorry Sora... but it's for your own good... I love you...

I then walk back and teleport back to my room.

Sora' POV

I pack up my bag in the guest room that Leon and Aerith let me sleep in.
I sniffled, tears still streaming down my face.
I thought he loved me...
Then I heard a knock on my door.
I didn't reply. The door opened anyway and Leon came in.
We made eye contact for a split second then I looked away so he wouldn't see me cry.
"What happened?" He asked.
I took a deep breath, holding in my urge to cry again.
"Sora?..."
I couldn't hold it in anymore. I started sobbing again.
He then pulled me into a hug. I cried into his chest.
"R-Riku..." I cried. I didn't have to say anything else. He more then likely knew what I was talking about.
I sobbed some more, his words still replaying in my head.
"I'm going home..."
"Why? After everything you've been through you're just gonna leave?"
I nodded while still crying.
"I don't think he loves me anymore..."
"What?..."
"Nothing..."
"You guys were in love?..."
I nodded again.
"He left after our first kiss..."
He sighed.
"I'm sorry Sora... but you can't give up now, there must be a reason why he left."
I shook my head no. I pulled away from him and kept packing.

Then he walked out of the room. I looked at the door confused. Did he just leave? Just like that?
Then I heard more foot steps. I kept packing.
"Sora?"
Kairi...
"You can't give up on Riku."
I turned to her.
"I know Riku wouldn't give up on you if you were in the same position."
She has a point...
she walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me.
"I know it hurts... but I do know he loves you... he told me many times back on the island."
I smiled and hugged her back.
"Thank you Kairi..."
She nodded.
"Of course."

I walked into the shop where Cid was.
"Hey Kiddo! Did Leon tell you?"
I nodded.
"Yeah... so where is this place he's apparently at?"
"Beasts castle."
I nodded.
"Let's do this."

(Sora's alone now)
I walked up the steps to the castle when I heard a voice... sounds like Riku's?!
I ran up faster till I saw him... he was hurting... a beast??
What the hell? He's innocent!!
"Riku stop!" I yelled. I walked up to him.
He laughed at me.
"I thought I told you to go home."
I shook my head no. "Not without you."
"Haha! You're so pathetic!" He yelled harshly.
That hurt but I tried not to show it.
"Let him go!" I said, referring to the beast.
He shook his head no.
"You know... there can't be two keyblade wielders." He said, changing the subject.
"What? You're a keyblade wielder?" I asked confused.
He smirked.
"Let the keyblade chose, it's true master!"
What is he talking about?
Then all of the sudden my keyblade summoned in my hand.
"What the-"
Then I felt this force pull on my blade, pulling it towards him.
I tried keeping it with me but I'm too weak.
He managed to take it from me. It disappeared from my hand and appeared in his.
My mouth dropped in shock half way.
"Haha! You're too weak!" He said harshly.
"How... how did this happen?"
"It's because your heart has a weak spot, and that weak spot is for me. You would do anything for me. Such a dumb move, I'm never going back, with you or Kairi. So just stop trying!"
I stood there starting at him. Tears forming in my eyes.
"Here. Play hero with this."
He tossed my wooden sword at me. The one I used back at the island.
It rolled over to me and landed at my feet.
I fell to my knees again. My stomach hurt, my heart hurt.
I started to cry again.
"Oh grow up Sora. You're never gonna get anywhere if you keep following me around! Go home!"
He turned around and walked into the castle, leaving me and the beast alone outside.

A couple seconds later I pulled it together. I have to be strong, I can't be a weak little boy.
I stood up and looked at the beast.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.
He was breathing heavily.
"I... I have to save her..."
"Who??"
"Belle..."
Belle...
"Does Riku have her?" I asked.
"Y-Yes... he's gathered all the princesses..."
Why? What does Riku want with the princesses?
I looked at the castle.
"Is she in there?"
He nodded.
"Okay, I'll go save her. Stay here." I said.
"No wait! It's too dangerous to go alone."
"You're not in a good state to be fighting right now... plus I've taken Riku before... maybe I haven't won but I can do it again..." I said.
I didn't let him answer, I ran into the castle.

I walked into this big room, it had a key whole! (He knows about them)
It was rainbow... Cool!
I then looked up to see Riku sitting there.
"I knew you wouldn't stop." He said.
I looked up at him, fighting my feelings for him. My feelings are dragging me down.
"I won't let you take the princess!"
"I already have. Don't come into a fight not knowing what it's for."
I glared at him.
"Oh I see. Finally starting to hate me?"
I shook my head.
"I could never."
"See that's your problem. Just get over me already."
I looked down.
Then he jumped down. He was a good enough distance from me.

"You should go now. Before the darkness takes you too."
"No. The darkness may destroy my body... but it won't touch my heart."
"Oh yeah? Why's that."
"Because I have friends by my side!"
"Yeah? What friends?"
I looked around and no one was there... I looked back at Riku.
That hurt...
Then his expression changed completely.
"You were wrong." His voice was deeper... like it was someone's else's voice, not his.
"Riku?..."
He then shot out dark power, aiming at me.
I gasped and shut my eyes closed.

"Guess something can touch your heart."
Then suddenly I was pushed away, falling on my back hard.
I yet again held my head in pain. My head was ringing.
Riku just... tried to hurt me?...
I looked and saw the beast looking at Riku, breathing heavily.
"I told you to stay outside! It's too dangerous in your state!" I said.
He looked at me.
"I'll be okay! Go! Find Belle for me!"
"No! You go! I'll stay here and fight off Riku." I said, glaring at Riku.
Riku laughed.
Beast nodded and ran away to go find Belle.
I stood up, which was a bad idea. I felt a sharp pain in my head, making my dizzy.
"You really wanna take me on in this state?" He said, laughing at me. His voice still wasn't his own. It was weird...
I pulled out the wooden sword and got in my ready stance.
He laughed once more.
"Okay... it's on!"
