Chapter Eight

Sora's POV

I was searching around trying to find some clues as to where he left and how he left. Then it dawned on me... The raft!! I ran to the side of the side of the island where the raft was made, and saw that the raft was still there. Then I heard foot steps walk up behind me, I turned and saw Kairi walking towards me. "Hey Sora, what you looking at?" She looked where I once was looking and sighed. I looked back at the raft. "Kairi this makes no sense... The raft is still here... How the hell did he leave?!" I said, getting furious by the minute. I clenched my fists. "Why did he leave me?!" I cried. I felt her put her hand on my shoulder. I flinched away and turned and looked at her. "Don't touch me!" I yelled. "Sora calm down..." She said, slowly walking backwards away from me. I shook my head. "Why did he leave me Kairi!?" I yelled and cried. "I-I don't know..." She said, looking scared. "I can't do this!" I screamed, I ran away but Kairi just in time grabbed my wrist. "Sora, let me help!" She said innocently. I pulled my arm free of her and looked at her softly. "Kairi... I'm leaving the island... It's too dangerous for you to tag along... I'm sorry but you gotta stay here" I said in the best way possible. She looked mad. "Seriously?! Sexist much! I could be just as strong as anyone! I'm tagging along and that's final!" She yelled. I stood there shocked at what I was seeing. Kairi mad... Furious... It's scary... "O-Okay... You can tag along..." I said in defeat. She smiled at me. "Thank you." She said, a little more calm. I nodded. "Well... Let's go get some supplies for our trip on the raft." I said. She smiled and nodded. We both went our different ways.

Kairi's POV I went to look around for some banana's on some trees but with no luck. I sighed. I then came across some Papou fruit grown on our favourite tree to sit on. I smiled. I climbed the tree and grabbed the two fruit that was grown on either side. I sat down on the tree and starred down at the fruit. I wish Sora liked me... I'm pretty sure he did once. But as he grew up he slowly drifted away from me... Yeah I mean, we're only 14-15 but still... Maybe he'll like me again if I kiss him? Will that work? I have to try. I stormed off, looking for Sora.

Sora's POV I walked in my house and saw my mom a sleep on the couch with a plate of steak and some potatoes. I smiled at her. I'm gonna miss her... I walked up stairs to my room and grabbed a backpack from my closet. I grabbed some extra clothes, some deodorant, my tooth brush and tooth paste, and some other objects. Then I headed down stairs to the kitchen to pack some food that wouldn't rot. I packed some crackers and some gold fish and some packaged food that wouldn't go old. Then I found a drawing of me and Riku and Kairi... I grabbed the drawing and smiled. I traced my thumb over riku, tears forming in my eyes.
I stuffed the drawing in the bag and headed back to my mom.
I smiled at her.
I grabbed a sheet of paper and wrote a note saying goodbye and stuff.
I put it down beside her and headed back to the raft.
I saw kairi there.
She waved at me.
I waved back.

I was laying down on the raft, my hands under my head. Kairi was taking her turn with paddling.
I felt bad making her paddle but like, I have to too so, it's fair.
I shut my eyes for some rest.

"Hey Sora?"
I looked at her.
"Can I take a break?"
I didn't answer, I didn't wanna take a break, I need to find Riku as soon as possible. What if he's in trouble?
I sat up and took the paddle from her. She looked at me confused.
I started paddling.
"No sora I meant take a break, like from moving in general."
I didn't reply. She should know I'm not gonna stop till I find him.

I was starting to doze off when I realized land was nearing.
"Kairi! Look!"
She sat up and looked where I was pointing. She smiled.
I started to paddle faster towards the land.

We walked into this huge door into this town. My moth dropped open in shock.
This place is BEAUTIFUL!
I laughed a bit.
Kairi laughed too.
Then this man walked towards us, he had blond short hair, goggles on his head, he was wearing a white tee- shirt with blue pants and black shoes. He had a black chain around his neck and he was chewing on a stick. He also looked old.
"Hello there. I don't think you're around here?"
The man said.
I looked at Kairi awkwardly.
"Yeah we just moved here." I said.
He looked at us like he didn't believe us.
"No no, you're on a mission. I can tell."
I looked at him confused.
"How... did you know?..." I asked.
"That doesn't matter kid, come with me, I can help you out."
I nodded and we followed him.

He brought us to this shop, I couldn't really tell what it was called. He went behind his desk and leaned forward on it with his hands holding him up.
"I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Cid." He held out his hand. I took it with a smile.
"I'm Sora, and this is Kairi." I said.
He smiled at us and shook kairi's hand too.

"So care to share what your mission is?" He asked us.
I looked at Kairi warily. "Why would we tell you? We don't even know you?" Kairi said.
He laughed a bit.
"Yeah that is true." He said.
I shrugged at Kairi.
"My... friend... left our island... and I think he's in trouble so... I'm looking for him." I said.
He nodded.
"Let me tell you something kid..."
I nodded.
"There is so much happening in our world that you probably weren't prepared for."
"Like what?"
"Heartless, organization, keyblades..." he trailed on.
"What is all that?" I asked confused. He chuckled a bit.
"Kid, just go home."
I scoffed a bit.
"I'm not leaving until I find him." I said, confidently.
He laughed again.
"Do you have a weapon?" He asked straight forward.
I shook my head no.
He stared at me for a bit.
"How important is this friend of yours to you?"
"Important... Very important."
He stared at me a little longer like he was thinking.
"Fine. I'll help you, only because I like you kid, I see strength in you."
I smiled.
"Thank you!" I said. Even tho I could've done this on my own...
I looked at Kairi and she wasn't even paying attention, she was just looking around at everything.
I sighed.
"One way you could help me, is keep her with you." I whispered with a smirk. He laughed.
"I have someone I want you to meet."

We were walking in this place called second district.
"So kid... have any fighting experience?" He asked me.
I nodded.
"Yeah... me and my friend fought each other with wooden swords... he always won." I said, smiling to myself thinking of him.
"So this friend is a he?" He asked.
I nodded.
"What's his name?"
"Ri-" I got interrupted by a sound... a weird sound.
I turned around to see some weird creature.
"Ahh! What is that?!" I asked, jumping back a little.
"That's a heartless! Run Sora!"
I felt this power rush threw me... it was weird... I felt it in my hand?... I brought my hand up to look at it.
"What are you doing?! Run!"
Then the heartless jumped at me. Everything was in slow motion. He was about to his me when all of a sudden I was... holding something? I looked at me hand and saw a... key? Everything was happening so fast that I just reacted. I whacked the heartless with the key.
He disappeared into nothing and a heart flooded to the sky.
I was breathing heavily and my heart beating fast.
I looked at Cid and Kairi and they were shocked.
"You're a keyblade wielder?!"
