I opened my eyes to the darkness in the room, freaked out for a moment and immediately switched the bed lamp on. I checked the time on my phone and it was 5 AM, and suddenly the blanket lying beside me moved. I opened my eyes wide and saw somebody sleeping beside me, tucked into the blanket. I was so shocked that I froze momentarily. I was not even drunk last night, I remember getting into bed alone. As I observed even more carefully, it was a girl. What? how? I was numb and clueless.
Her wavy, tangled hair was almost covering her forehead, that was peaking out of the blanket. Her skin looked smooth and spotless like glass. I stared at her for a few minutes without realising it and then came back to my senses. Did I even meet this girl yesterday? Do I wake her up? or ignore her and go back to sleep? How can I sleep with a stranger girl beside me? The breeze from the air conditioner, mildly blew her hair strands, disturbing her sleep. She immediately turned to the other side.
I sat there for a while not knowing what to do. After a few minutes, she shifted from one side to the other and slowly opened her eyes. For a few seconds, she looked at me as if she knew me and then she freaked out silently, which I could see in her eyes. She sat up on the bed, her hands checking if all her clothes were in place while her eyes still staring at me. She looked nervous and hesitant to talk. Both of us stayed calm for a minute not knowing how to start the conversation. "I am sorry, I really don't remember how I ended up here," she finally spoke. I was worried that she would accuse me of her ending up here, but she didn't. "I have no idea either. Did we meet yesterday?" I asked. "I don't think so, you are Rakesh's roommate right?" she asked. "Yea," I replied. "I better get going," she said, looked at herself in the mirror, set her hair with her fingers and walked out of the room. I got freshen up and walked out of the room. Few of Rakesh's friends were still lying on the couch and on the floor in the living room. How much did these people drink? I thought.
It was around afternoon, by the time everybody left. Me and Rakesh quietly sat and ate the leftover food from the previous night. "Any idea who was this girl in my room?" I asked him hesitantly. "which girl?" he asked. "I dint get her name but she was sleeping beside me, when I woke up," I said. He nearly choked on his food. "What? who?" he asked in disbelief. "I don't know who she is, that is what I am asking you," I replied. "You slept with one of my friends?" he asked giving me a disgusting look. "Noooo...I meant she was normally sleeping beside me, I didn't even touch her or even seen her the previous night," I assured him. He dint talk for a moment, he looked like he was recollecting the previous night. "Are you talking about Shraddha?" he asked after a minute. "Who is Shraddha?" I asked. He opened his phone, searched and showed a picture of the girl. "Yea, it's the same girl," I told. "She was kind of sloshed yesterday, but I didn't see her at night, so I thought she left," he told.
