In Godric Hallow all was silent. But that silence didn't last long. Screams rang through the night and shouts could be heard from miles away. Inside one house belonging to the Potters a red headed woman ran up the stairs while a black haired man shot spells at an intruder rapidly but he was blinded by his panic. The intruder used that to his advantage, stunning him and calmly stalking past towards the nursery the woman locked herself in. With a carelessly thrown Bombarda the door blasted out of the hinges causing the woman to turn around quickly and shriek in fear.
"Not my babies! Please not them! Take me instead!" she begged and fell to her knees. "Please!"
Chuckling the intruder stunned her, too, muttering to himself. "Now I did tell her Voldemort is going to come after her children. Why must she always make everything so difficult. Stupid mother instincts."
Gradually the intruders appearance changed to one of an old man with crazy robes, a long white beard and sharp blue eyes hiding behind moon glasses. He stared at the twin's cribs, a cold smirk on his lips. The twins, despite looking similar, were having different reactions to the events unfolding. John, the twin with brown eyes, was crying loudly whilst Harry, the green eyed twin, was watching everything calmly with a cold icy gaze.
The old man frowned at the green eyed one deciding that the other one would work much better for his master plan. Aiming his wand at John, he carved a lightning bold on his forehead. Then he caved the roof down and left.
And that was how John Potter became the boy-who-lived and Harry Potter the boy-who-lived-in-the-shadows.
