My grades were better than ever. Without the usual distractions I was able to focus on my studies. With so much time spent in the hospital, I had time to do homework and read the chapters for the next day. I was still waiting to hear from the universities I had applied to. I was not so sure of leaving Texas anymore though.
I went home after my Friday cheer practice, grabbed enough clothes for the weekend, and drove to the hospital. Social life was inexistent at the moment. By five o'clock I had finished all my homework meant for the weekend. I was left with nothing else to do, so I decided to draw. Between drawing and exhaustion I fell asleep.
When I woke up it was dark outside.
"You're awake."
"Oh my! What are you doing here, Levi?" He was sitting in the opposite corner in a blue chair with an ugly pattern.
"I just wanted to be with you. I miss you."
Looking at his blue eyes, his sun-kissed skin, the array of messy dark blond hair, made me realize that I missed him too. I moved towards him and stopped right in front of him.
"I've missed you too."
He pulled my hand and sat me on his lap. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, placing my head where his neck and shoulder met. I inhaled his scent and molded my body around his. Levi moved his hand in small circles on my back.
"I know you want your space, but I want to be with you, to take care of you."
"I just... I struggle with communication at times like this."
"You don't have to talk to me; I only want to hold you and be by your side." He caressed my face so gently that I shivered.
There was something building up inside me, so I kissed him. But it wasn't a slow and romantic kiss, it was a desperate and impatient lip-lock. He met me with the same intensity after the initial surprise. Gradually we started slowing down, and eventually pulled away.
I invited him to lay with me on the large recliner chair that had become my permanent bed for almost a month. We talked for hours about our pasts, families, likes and dislikes. By the time we fell asleep, the sun was coming up and light rain began to hit the window.

So I lied about it being long; I didn't mean to. Things just happen. I won't make promises about the next one though.
