Korbin's Pov

"Chin up child,"

Fuck. Not her. Why her? I'd even settle for Elduin.

"Why the sad face? I thought you'd be glad to see me?" She hangs her slender arms through the bars.

What happened to her ears? Why do they look human? Better yet why is she so covered up? Her usual purple and pink robes fit her better than a long dress.

Hmm...she could be in disguise.

"I'm never glad to see you Rhangul,"

"Pity, your brother's high general is,"

I roll my eyes. "Whore,"

"Watch your mouth," Rhangul's chirpy mood quickly swings to a fiery rage. I let out a sigh. She really thinks she's not one. With her list, I think so. 

"How long are you staying?"

"Awhile," she chirps.

I glare up at her. She doesn't notice. Or pretends not to. "Do not fuck any of my brothers,"

Rhangul grins. "I'll try not to, but lady Albi can't promise." She gestures to her rounded ears.

Sure.

You'll try not to. With your list of males and men I chalk your, I'll try not to, as a yes I will. Spirits it had to be her. At least Elduin wouldn't try and get with my brothers. He had the sense not to.

Carys' Pov

"Travel safe my child," mother's warm hands hold my tanned face. I smile down at her.

"We will,"

Mother lets go of my face and turn to Ignatius. He smiles and embraces her. They don't let go for a minute or so. Like when we were children.

Ignatius and I will travel with a host of guards escorting Korbin to Evanath. From there Korbin will go to Gaerwn and Ignatius will go to Severin.

Hadriel and Aveyard will take a smaller host to the coast. From there Hadriel will take a boat to Nuriel and Aveyard will take a boat to Lucien. Aveyard will likely arrive in Lucien around the same time as Ignatius. That being said I think he has plans to stay in Evanath for a few days before leaving.

Aveyard calls my name. "It's time to go,"

He's right. The sun is high in the sky and we have a lot of ground to cover.

I hop onto my horse and wave at father and mother. They stand holding each other beside Avalon and Brielle. By the top step leading to the castle's doors, Colt stands with Arthur. The young of the duo waves as Hadriel, Ignatius, Korbin, his guards, Aveyard and I begin our journey.

Oh fuck.

Not this again. This is the second time in five days.

Syrpants are a pain in my ass. I'm just trying to get to the capital of Evanath. Aunt Bryce is expecting us. Spirits what would she think if two heirs perished in Evanath. Uncle Vaughn will be pissed. I heard he's looking forward to retirement.

I know I would be too if I'd ruled a kingdom for over 600 years. Spirits, Colt narrowly escaped the position. Although he seems like the kind of male who enjoys giving orders.

He was high general Peirce's second in command. Father regards Colt as a son. Always has, always will. It's not like he has 6 others. Spirits I miss Colt already. Ugh. Don't cry Carys. Not here... maybe later.
