I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing , so I grab it off my night stand to see my boy , Kyle calling .
"Yeah bro ?" I answer and the sound of sniffles were heard through the phone before he spoke .
"Have you talk to her yet ?" He asks me .
"Yeah bro , she's still not letting up ." I admit . Who would've thought that Kyrie would be so damn stubborn .
"Bro I love her , please devin . Help me ." He says .
"Kuz , I'm trying bro , trust me I am . But I hate to say it , you made your bed so you might have to lay in it ." I confess , Kyrie' a good girl , what would even bring him to cheat on someone as bad as her .
"Dude I fucked up once , give me a break . Who's side are you even on right now ?" He asks me .
"You want me to lie or be truthful cause In all honesty I'm with Kyrie . That girl gave you nothing but time , love and respect . The fact that you messed that up for a short time of fun with some random chick makes you an idiot and now you gotta suffer the consequences for your mistakes ." I tell him .
"Wow bro ." Is all he says before hanging up .
Setting my phone back on my nightstand , I rub the sleep out of my eyes before sitting on the edge of my bed and slipping on my house shoes .
Walking into my bathroom I do my morning routine before hoping in the shower to start my day correctly .
Today I planned on meeting up with Kyrie because she said she needed my advice , So were gonna go out for lunch and pray that people don't make it out to anything big .
As I finish getting dress , I walk out of my bathroom before grabbing my phone and walking downstairs to see my maid , Rosa washing dishes .
"Good afternoon Rosa ." I smile at her before grabbing my car keys off the key rack and giving her a hug . Rosa was definitely like a grandma to me , she cooked the best meals and cleaned and did the best job at it .
"Leaving already ?" She asks me hugging me back .
"Yes ma'am I'm meeting one of my friends for lunch ." I tell her .
"A girlfriend perhaps?" She smiles at me .
"No ma'am , she's strictly a friend . My bro's ex fiancé ." I tell her .
"Oh , that seems as if it won't end good ." She says and as I was about to reply , my phone rings and I answer it seeing it was Kyle .
"Yeah bro ?" I answer.
"I really lost her ." He cries .
"Why you say that bro ?" I ask .
"She just posted on her Snapchat that she's going out and she used the single gif bro ." He cries .
"Look I'll talk to her , I gotta go though bro ." I tell him .
"Where you going ?" He asks me .
"To meet up with a friend for lunch ." I tell him .
"Girlfriend?" He asks .
"No bro , she's just a friend ." I tell him .
"Whatever , just smash for the both of us ." He says before hanging up . Something is really wrong with dude .
Leaving my house , I text Kyrie and let her know I'm on my way before pulling out of my driveway and blasting my 90's playlist , cause you can never go wrong with old school .
Pulling into Poppy + Rose I was about to text Kyrie but stopped myself once I saw that we were pulling in at the same time .
Parking my Camero , she parks in front of me before stepping out of her black Beamer .
"I see you trynna be like me ." I laugh before making my way towards her and embracing her in a tight hug .
"More like you trynna be like me ." She says sizing me up as I see that we were both wearing black air max 97's .
"Whatever kid ." I say and she laughs as I hold the door open for her allowing her to enter the restaurant before me .
As we get seated , we look over the drink menu and order drinks before I start up a conversation .
"So how'd you sleep ?" I ask taking a sip of the water that sat infront of us as we waited for our drinks .
"Not good at all really . It just bothers me how he asks me to marry him and then proceeds to go out and cheat , I just don't get it ." She says shaking her head not looking at me once as she spoke . I could tell she was hurting , she wore a black hoodie , sweatpants and allowed her Gucci sunglasses to still sit on her face . You could tell she got little sleep because her beautiful brown skin wasn't glowing like usual it was pale in a way .
"I loved him so much devin ." She says as her voice was soft and low , I could see tears running down her face as she pushed her glasses up more .
"Hey stop crying , your too pretty for that ." I tell her hoping she'd crack a smile .
"Look after lunch let me take you to the aquarium ." I tell her causing her to look up at me .
"Are you asking me on a date Booker ?" She asks causing me to laugh .
"Friends can't go on dates ?" I ask causing her to smile .
"I don't see why not ." She says causing me to smile .
I never really asked Kyle why he chose to cheat in the first place . Every chance that man got he'd brag about how much Kyrie meant to him and more . What would bring him to cheat on a beautiful soul like Kyrie ?
