Later that night, Jooheon was late meeting up again. Hyungwon was growing suspicious even more. It was like an itch waiting to be scratched, something just wasn't right.
Hyungwon took Wonho to the side, out of earshot from the others. "Remember how I wanted to tell you something last night?"
Wonho hummed, recalling their conversation from the night before. "Yeah, it seemed like you were worried about something."
Hyungwon nods his head, the same emotion currently on his face again. "I don't trust Jooheon. Something doesn't feel right."
"I think he might just be nervous. This is a huge thing going on, I wouldn't blame him for being scared."
Hyungwon nibbles at his bottom lip, not pressing the issue further. The worry was nagging at him, though.
"Okay, so we pick up Jinyoung and then head out to point A. We will find the first rebellion group there." The group all nods at Kihyun. This was it.
As soon as they reached Jinyoung's home, his mother, of course, had to lecture Hyungwon to keep his son safe. His grandma had to lecture him earlier, when they stopped by the cafe for some treats for the trip.
"Hyungwon, I wanted to show you what I brought that will help us. Well, I think they might help." After Jinyoung finds a seat next to Hyungwon in one of the back seats of the car they were riding in, he pulls out a couple of gadgets.
Hyungwon inspected one of them, it looked to be something to help pick locks while also being a laser pointer. "Don't shoot the laser, at least not in here. My friend made it, it's a real laser."
The older's eyes widen. "Why do you have this?!"
"What is that?" Asks Changkyun, who turns around his seat to look at them. Hyungwon displays the lock picker in his palm. Changkyun takes it for a moment, analyzing every detail on it.
"Who gave you this?" He asks while forming a small amount of light from his fingers. Hyungwon could tell he was using his magic to charm the item. "I fixed it. To save time, it can now unlock doors by you just pointing at the door."
The small boy takes his item back, while looking at it in awe. "My friend, Youngjae, he's a collector. He found both the laser and the pin and molded the two items together to make that. He knows I like sneaking into places so he gave it to me as a birthday present."
The rest of the ride to this unknown location, was quiet except for the soft hum of the radio in the background. It wasn't a real radio as the radio towers weren't properly fixed since the attack. Changkyun had used his magic to make it work.
They soon pull up to a large gate. It was a tall fence with barbed wire decorated on top with signs scattered along the side, warning of danger and to not trespass.
Kihyun drove up next to a couple of guys who stood in front of the gate. He spoke a few words and explained their reason for arrival. Soon enough, they were on their way inside.
It was a small community of tents and run down shelters. It seemed empty and the energy of the place was dead. There weren't too many people out, but as they drove closer to their destination, Hyungwon noticed a field with a group of people not too far away who looked to be training.
"Okay, we're here."
The group all exit the vehicle, Jinyoung's hand immediately attaching to Hyungwon's. Hyungwon felt for the boy. This wasn't very safe, but he knew what they were getting into.
"Hi, my name is Kihyun, we talked on the phone earlier."
A short guy wearing a mullet on his head and a bunch of ear piercings walks up to Kihyun and his group. He looked as if he was ready to kill a man, until he began smiling at them.
"My name is Hongjoong. I heard you were looking for help killing Basileus. We don't have many people, but Ateez are here to help out."
Hyungwon steps forward, leaving Jinyoung to hold onto Wonho's hand instead. "My name is Hyungwon. We-"
"The savior. I know who you are. You're the talk around here. I feel honored that you want our help." Hongjoong has a look of pride adorning his face knowing he was talking to the savior.
Hongjoong leads them into what looks like the main building of this place as it was the biggest.
"This is San, my boyfriend and second in command." San walks up to us and nods with a smile, greeting the group. "I wanted to talk to you guys about this, but I have a plan that could help. I also know another rebel group that is interested in becoming alliances."
They all gather around a small desk found in one of the back rooms. It wasn't a very big office, but it worked for them.
Hongjoong seemed to know what he was doing and that reassured Hyungwon. He almost felt like a fake, as if he had this mask on. Why was he the one chosen? Someone like Hongjoong should have been, he had the mindset of a leader. Hyungwon was clueless and lost.
