"Come on Jia it will be fun! He's harmless anyways."

She really didn't want to know. Yang Jia had always feared the inevitable escape of death. Of course her overly curious mind had indeed thought of the endless ways she could die, but she never really wanted to know. It would have her more paranoid than she already was.

"Are you sure he even knows? Maybe he just got lucky and guessed right with Mrs. Bang," Jia trailed behind her friend, Sooyoung.

They were all together at lunch, the only reason Jia was with the small group of people was because her other three best friends were all absent from school that day. She found it odd how all three girls were gone but felt it wasn't her place to ask where they were.

"He has predicted like ten people cause of death, hes like a psychic or something." Sooyoung spoke as they slowly walked across the cafeteria.

"What's wrong Jia? Are you scared?" Jinyoung asked the younger girl. Yes, she was very scared. She knew he was able to predict people's deaths and it was honestly slightly terrifying. The boy was already rather intimidating as is, Jia having multiple classes with him.

Jia had no idea why the five other people at the table wanted to know how they would die so badly. She just didn't want to ruin the fun that they were having so she went along with it.

"No, why would I be?" Jia acted braver than she really was, her heart beating out of her chest in the reality of it. The group approached the boy who was sat at the back table of the cafeteria with a book in his hand. She had wondered where the other five boys who were usually with him were but didn't pay too much mind to it.

Wooyoung was the one to approach the boy first, making the request to tell the group the way they would die. The black haired male set the book down and let his eyes rake across the group in front of him before his eyes fell on Jia.

He got a strange feeling from her, his eyes lingering on her for a second before returning his gaze to Wooyoung. As for Jia as soon as his eyes met hers, she panicked.

It's not everyday that Huang Renjun looks at you for more than two seconds.

She watched carefully as he finished speaking to Wooyoung. His eyes shifted, Jia saw it. As soon as he registered the fact that he needed to read someone, his usually chocolate brown orbs flushed away into a deep red.

Jia was taken aback, the red eyes not being the only thing that sent a chill of shock down her spine. It was the book that scared her the most. The seemingly normal book with a blank black cover suddenly began glowing a sharp red in the center, a pentagram burning into the center of the cover.

The Devils Bible.

Jias throat hitched, the girl looking around to the other five people around her wondering why they weren't freaking out over this as well. It then occurred to her that they couldn't see it.

Her mind was racing, trying to comprehend what on earth was going on at that moment. She watched Renjuns eyes roll back slightly as he began reading each person off one by one.

"Poison."

"Murdered."

"Old age."

"Cancer."

"Heart attack."

As the other five were processing their causes, Renjuns eyes fell to Jia once more.

He seemed more concentrated as he looked at her, his eyebrows furrowing and lips slightly parting from one another. Jia fumbled with her hands nervously as she involuntarily locked eyes with him. Renjun tried very hard to read her, his eyes glowing a neon red which alarmed Jia even more. He could see the fear in her eyes and that's when he knew.

She could see his true demon form.

The two stared at each other as time seemingly stopped, Renjun trying very hard to read her. After a moment, his eyes began glowing a very bright neon red before they flashed and the red in his eyes drained away. He squinted his eyes, blinking for a moment to recover from what just happened.

Jia saw it all. She saw the way his eyes seemed to short out and the red flashed away from her eyesight. Helpless, she stood frozen in her spot in a mix of fear, confusion, and curiosity. Renjun was taken aback, never having anything of this sort happen to him before. Jia was holding in a strained Yelp of fear as she saw his fangs appear in his mouth, a defense mechanism for when things happened that he didn't understand.

Of course she knew of the existence of angels and demons but it was literally impossible for humans to be able to see demons, only Angels were able to. Humans could only see Angels. So reasonably, the girl was absolutely terrified to see that there was a literal demon sitting three feet away from her. No matter what Renjun did, he couldn't read her.

He was compelled to know more. In the moment though, he was just bewildered. He could not read her. That was nearly impossible for demons to not be able to read a human.

A small string of words left Renjuns lips, barely audible but just loud enough for Jia to hear.

"What the hell?"
