CHAPTER TWO:

COMPLIMENTS OVER COFFEE

-----------

Riker's P.O.V.

"Why did you shut the door in their faces?" my younger brother asked me.

"I dont know. I guess because you looked really nervous, and you're never nervous around girls."

Around girls, Rocky was usually all outgoing and showy, but for some reason, today he was acting shy and embarrassed. He was even blushing. He never blushes around girls.

"Yeah, I guess I was."

"You're face was all red."

"I know. I could tell."

"So do you want to go out with them?"

"We don't even know their names."

"That's never stopped you before, Rocky."

"I know. I'm acting really weird today. I have no clue why."

"I kind of want to go."

"Ooh, does someone have a little crush?"

"Psh no."

"I saw you staring at the girl in the yellow when she wasn't looking."

"I definitely was not staring at her."

"I saw you checking out her ass."

'I tried to do that without anyone noticing,' I thought to myself. 'I only glanced at it. I guess I have to work on that.'

I tried to change the subject because I felt my face heating up. "Well I saw how nervous you were when you were all alone talking to the girl in the hoodie."

"So?"

"You like her," I laughed, poking at Rocky.

He pushed my hand away. "I do not."

"Well let's see how you feel after we go out with them."

Before he could say anything, I opened the door again. "Meet you guys at the garage." I smiled, shutting the door and walking towards the garage.

I pressed the button and the garage door opened to reveal the two girls we saw on the porch earlier. Rocky and I walked over to them.

I extended my hand. "I'm Riker Lynch by the way. And that's Rocky." He waved to them.

The girl in the pink hoodie took my hand. "Carter Stevens. And this is Juliana Thomas. She's kind of shy," she laughed.

I put my hand in front of Juliana's. She reluctantly shook it. As cliché as it sounds, I felt sparks as we touched. Her eyes widened slightly. I guess she felt them too.

She smiled shyly. "Hi."

"Come on. Let's drive to Starbucks," I said, walking over to my car. Rocky sat in the front with me, and the girls sat in the back.

We pulled up to Starbucks and climbed out of the car. We walked inside, ordered our drinks, and sat down.

"So tell us about yourselves, girls," I said, trying to start a conversation.

Not surprisingly, Carter spoke up. "Well I'm from Wisconsin and Jules is from Pennsylvania. We're roommates at the college around the corner. We're both 18, and that's about it. What about you guys?"

"Well we're originally from Colorado. There's five kids in the family. Me, Rocky, our sister Rydel, and our brothers Ross and Ryland. Our friend Ellington lives with us too. We're in a band together, minus Ryland, and we moved out here to get famous. And I'm 20, turning 21 in a little over a month, and Rocky's 17, turning 18 a week before."

"Sweet! What's your band called?"

"R5. It's because our names all start with R, except Ellington though. But his last name is Ratliff so we use that as an excuse in a way."

"R5? I've heard of you before. I think my cousins Kaitlyn and Leah like you guys."

"Tell them we said hi," I smirked.

"Will do!"

"Riker, Rocky, Juliana, and Carter?" the server called out. I stood up and brought our drinks back to our table. I noticed Rocky and Carter have started talking and Juliana was quietly sitting there alone.

"Hey! Here's your drink," I said, handing her the coffee.

"Thanks." She took a sip.

"I guess Rocky and Carter have hit it off."

"Yep. I think she might like him," she giggled. Wow, she had one adorable laugh.

"I think he might like her back. I mean look at them." They were talking and laughing as if they had known eachother their entire lives.

"So what do you like to do in your free time, Juliana?"

"Call me Jules. And I don't really know. I like to draw and tweet and stuff like that."

"You have a twitter? I'll follow you."

"Yep. It's @jules_thomas173."

I took out my phone, quickly opened up twitter, and followed her.

"Wow, you're verified?" she asked.

"Yeah," I laughed.

"Well since you followed me, I'm getting TONS of new followers. I guess fans of yours. Thanks," she giggled again. Holy crap, I love her laugh.

"No problem," I smiled.

She looked really beautiful. Her hair fell perfectly and her smile was gorgeous. That Hollister shirt fit her like it was made for her and her ass. Oh my gosh. She--

"You really think that?" Jules asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Shit, did I just say that out loud?" I moaned.

She nodded, laughing a little.

I blushed with embarrassment. "Whoops. And yeah, I really do think that."

"Well you're thinking wrong." She looked down at her coffee cup.

"Hey." I placed my finger under her chin and lifted her head up so she had to look at me. "Don't say that. You look amazing."

"No I don't."

"Yes you do, and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise."

She smiled shyly. "Thanks, Riker."

"Anytime."

"So do you guys want to get going?" Rocky asked us.

I turned to Jules and shrugged. "Yeah, I guess."

"Do you mind if I bring my coffee to your car? I didn't finish it yet," Jules asked.

"That's fine," I replied. "I'm bringing mine too. Just be careful."

She nodded in agreement.

And with that, we all stood up and walked to my car.
