CHAPTER NINETEEN:
THANKSGIVING, PART 2
------------------------------------
Rocky's P.O.V.
As we stepped inside, I saw a group of people standing near the kitchen counter.
A woman turned around. "Carter!"
"Mom!" She gave her a hug, and have everyone else a quick squeeze. She walked back over to me. "Guys, this is-"
She was cut off by two high-pitched screams as two girls ran over to us from another room. Kate and Leah, I assumed.
"Oh my god, you're Rocky Lynch!" The taller girl shouted.
"And are you Kate or Leah?" I asked, smiling.
"I'm Kate," she beamed.
"And I'm Leah," the other girl added.
"Dinner's ready," Carter's dad said.
The girls ushered me to the dining room, sitting down on either side of me. Carter sat across from us in between her brother, Alex, and her sister, Jordan. I gave her a help-me-these-girls-are-crazy look, but she just smirked and shook her head.
After we had finished eating, we went to the family room to watch some football.
"Hey Rocky," Alex said. "I was wondering if I could talk to you."
"Uh, yeah. Sure." I stood up, eager to have a break from the two girls, and followed him into the kitchen.
He leaned against the counter. "So you're dating my sister."
"Yes I am."
"How'd you two meet?"
"Well she and her friend Jules got lost looking for a Starbucks and rang our doorbell. It just branched out from there."
"So you two have been together for how long now?"
"We were together for a month or so, broke it off for a little, and then got back together. It's been a few weeks since then."
He crossed his arms. "Why'd you break up?"
I shifted uncomfortably. "Umm...it's kind of a long story. I think you should ask her if you want to know."
"Did you do something bad?"
"No, I didn't."u
"Good. Because she's had her heart broken before. I don't want to see it happen to her again."
"I'd never do that to her."
"I'm just letting you know that if you ever do anything to hurt Carter in any way, I'll fly to LA and kick your ass. Got it?"
I nodded, a little frightened.
"Have you two...you know?"
I laughed and scratched the back of my neck nervously. "A few times, yeah."
"Were you safe?"
"Of course."
"Just making sure," he laughed. "Now let's go watch some football." He turned and headed back to the family room.
I sat back down on the couch, Leah and Kate scooting closer.
"What was that about?" Carter asked.
