This is how Lance wanted to die.

The only thing he would change is that damn helmet laying a few feet away from him.

"LANCE?! LANCE STOP FUCKING AROUND WHERE ARE YOU?!"

Scratch that, Keith had finally decided to pay attention to him.

Now it was perfect. He would be laying there on the soft grass, a galran sword stuck in his chest looking at the beautiful stars in the sky as his true love whispered sweet nothings-

"GOD LANCE YOU'RE SUCH A FUCKING IDIOT GET YOUR ASS OVER TO YOUR LION."

Close enough.

To be clear, Keith wasn't his boyfriend. He had made that very clear during Lance's confession. He didn't blame Keith though, he would have chosen Shiro too.

And Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone.
Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone. Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone. Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone. Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone. Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone. Keith said he wouldn't tell anyone.

It was all he asked.

But he did. He knows. He sees how Shiro looks at him now.

Actions speak louder than words, right?

As he started to black out, he smiled as the team slowly began to piece everything together.

Keith's voice began to break.

"LANCE?! LA-"

I was annoyed, okay? Lance had just been so... passive since I had come back from the blade.

It was weird. I wasn't prepared.

Besides, I had other things on my mind. Only a week earlier, I had started dating Shiro. Of course we didn't tell the team, it was none of their business.

You have to understand why I said what I said.

God, who am I kidding. I told him so many lies. I told him I hated his guts.

And now he's gone.

But even if I wasn't so aggressive, what could I have done?

I could have lied, accepted his feelings, and live heartache for Shiro; or I could have broken his heart.

Maybe it's better this way. Life is for the living, you know?

I fiddled with the diamond ring on my finger. The gold curved like vines surrounding the bottom of a small sapphire, making it look like a small flower.

Long story short, this whole wedding was damn expensive. I never thought I could be this happy.

Sure, guilt was eating at the back of my head, but who cares? Lance was dead, and me and Shiro are alive.

My Takashi and me. I like the sound of that.

...

So.... c-c-cold.

Why was it so cold?

Heaven shouldn't be this cold.... or am I in hell? No no, then I would be burning.

God, it's freezing.

He opened my mouth to speak, only for an unfamiliar sound (similar to an elderly frog with corona) to come out instead.

"H-H-H-H-Help-p-p...."

"Lance, mi bebé, ¿qué pasa?"
(Lance, my baby, what is wrong?)

"M-M-M-Mama?"

Warmth. Comfort. Blankets and hot food. Clothes fresh out of the dryer and children scurrying around. Eggs frying and garlic rolls fresh out of the oven. Even that damned Tele Novella Mama liked that always aired right when he wanted to watch cartoons.

It was all there, waiting for him. Lance reached his hand towards the light of the fire place. His fingers just about grazed the beautiful scene before the warmth began to surround him.

He finally did it.

He was home.

Meanwhile, a huge Galran ship began to descend on a small beach in the Bahamas.

They had already taken out several small countries before this (Cuba included) and was starting their rampage on a beautiful wedding being held for two familiar faces...
