The first weeks in college went by fast. He was getting used to his schedule, every morning stopping by the cafe near his house to grab a coffee.

He hadn't battled a thought to soulmates since that moment.

Would it be worth fighting for anyways?

He didn't know. But if it would come, if that person would come one day, he hoped he would find out. For now, he just needed to focus on his life.

Changkyun looked up as he saw Dongmin running by. The younger looked a bit in panic, as if he was trying to hide from someone.

"Dongmin-ssi?" Dongmin saw him and smiled quickly before looking over his shoulder. He frowned before gripping Dongmin's arm and dragged him into the nearest empty room.

If he was honest, he didn't really personally know the younger. Only that BamBam and Yugyeom was in a groupchat with him. The guy was also popular on campus because of his gorgeous visuals, everyone knew who he was.

Dongmin looked thankful as Changkyun shut the door. The other sat down, sighing as he catched his breath. "Thanks sunbaenim."

He nodded slowly. "Why where you running Dongmin-ssi?"

The other just shook his head. "It's just fangirls."

Though, he could clearly see the puffy eyes. He noticed the sun colored mark on Dongmin's cheek.

"You are not alright, are you?" Silence settled between them. The younger shut his eyes.

"Yeah, I'm sorry to trouble you. You can see that I've been crying, right?" Changkyun looked closely, shaking his head.

"Actually not so much." He smiled reassuringly.

"What happened?" Dongmin shook his head.

"I'm sure it's strange to talk to someone you just met, but I hate to not be able to do anything." Dongmin smiled slightly.

"My soulmate doesn't like me back."

~~

"Thanks, Changkyun-ssi." He nodded, patting Dongmin on the back.

"Of course. You can call me hyung, by the way. We aren't exactly strangers anymore." The younger smiled as they arrived to his dorm.

"If anything, I think you should talk to them." He stopped. Dongmin looked tiredly at him.

"Thanks for the advice. I will be alright." Changkyun knew that he wasn't. But he had a feeling it would be clearer for the younger soon enough.

"See you, Dongmin-ah. Make sure you talk to them." Dongmin nodded as they parted ways, Changkyun heading back towards his apartment.

He sighed as he finally reached the door, dropping his bag on the floor.

A little nap wouldn't hurt right?

Changkyun let out a groan as he jumped into bed, dragging his blanket over him. His eyes fluttered close and he took a long breath, relaxing into the pillows.

"Changkyun."

He looked up and saw the pink haired guy again. He widened his eyes, gaping as the other smiled. No words were exchanged as they stared at each other.

"Do you believe in soulmates?" The taller looked at him, still quiet.

What makes you think I'm your soulmate? Changkyun knew that the other might not be his soulmate. But why did he feel like that the first time they met?

"My soulmate doesn't want me." Suddenly, the scenery changed and the pink haired guy disappeared.

In front of him, Dongmin appeared, still looking sad. "Why?"

The younger laughed bitterly. "I never told them we were soulmates. The person for me is already happy with someone else."

"They...they didn't notice?" Dongmin shook his head and smiled sadly.

"Not everyone wants to acknowledge those things."

"Kyunnie!" The dream changed again and Changkyun found himself back on his hometown, in his room.

"Kyunnie-ah! I found my soulmate!" 6-year old Jaebum smiled as he showed the purple pastel colors.

"Woah, that's great hyung! Who is it?" Jaebum smiled brightly.

"It's Jinyoung! No wonder we became friends so fast!" Changkyun giggled.

"Congrats hyung!" He nodded happily and sat down beside his younger brother.

"Wait, just wait Kyunnie! One day you will meet your soulmate too!" 4-year old Changkyun had smiled back then.

He wasn't sure if it was that fairy tail like anymore.

Soulmates don't always bring happiness.

Changkyun woke up. He blinked, slowly sitting up. What the hell was that for dream?

As he looked around, he frowned. Why couldn't he shake off this feeling? Changkyun sighed as he got up, heading towards the kitchen to make dinner.

The feeling still didn't go away.
