Chapter 2

Mom POV (bet you didn't expect this!)

                 "Y/n, I'll wait here while you talk to some bitties!" I said happily. "Excuse me Ms., but could you come here for a minute?" the store clerk said. "Yes?" I said after I walked over to the counter. "We have to watch your daughter through these security cameras, to make sure the bitties are safe. It's our policy, I am sorry Ms.!" She meows apologetically. "No, I understand Ms. I have heard awful stories about bitty abuse, so I understand, why you would need to do that!" I said and gave her a smile. "Thank you for understanding," relief clear in her eyes. I walked and sat in a comfy chair in the bitty playroom, and waited for Y/n to return.

Y/n POV

                I walked to a door labeled "Bittybones", and went inside. I knew that these bitties were Undertale AU Sanses and Papyruses, for I had researched all the difference species. I took a deep breath and walked opened the door. I was greeted with a chorus of "Hellos" from Baby Blues, Dreams, Inks, and Papyruses. "He-llo!" I stuttered out. They were a little loud for me, so I kept walking and saw some Rasberrys, Pups, Reds, and Edges. They all glared at me, and I kept walking. I saw some adorable Lanthias and Chains, I loved reptiles, but my Mom wouldn't want dead mice in her house. I then saw some of the bad Sanses bitties. They were super cool, but they were too violent for my liking.

                    I saw a small room attached too the main room labeled "Rescues", I walked in the room and say a few small tanks lining the room. I first saw a chain without eyes. "Hi little guy" I said kindly. He hissed and slithered quickly under a rock. Poor little snake... The next tank had an emotionless Dream bitty. I waved but he did not move. I sighed, This is really unfair, these bitties don't deserve to be treated like this. I moved to the last tank it had a small Error bitty without an eye. "Hello little guy!" I said quietly giving him the closed eye smile. He leapt up at a shocking speed and started swinging his head around to locate the sound. Great Y/n, just great I have already scared him out of his soul! After he finally located me, instead of looking angry, she looked scared, shocked? "I didn't mean to scare you," I said, hoping he would accept my apology. "He looked at me with eyes of pure fear but he didn't back down. "h-ELLo" he barely whispered. "I'm not going to hurt you," I said sincerely. He slightly relaxes but not that much. I know Error's have haphaphobia, but maybe I can let use his strings to come out and say hello? He might not feel as vulnerable if he knows he has an entire room to hide in. Want to use your strings and come out so we could talk easier?" I said. "nO ToUcHiNg?" he whispers, looking at me quizzically. "Why would I make you do something you are not comfortable with?" I asked clearly puzzled. "yOu aRe nOt liKe the otHerS," he barely whispered. "What?" I said. "No-Thing, I w-iLL cO-me oUt I g-uEss," he whispers.

Error POV

                I used my small yarn-like strings to climb out of my cage. I was very scared, but I tried to hide it to the best of my abilities. I landed on the cold ground next to the girl. "What is your name?" the girl asked. "I dOn't hAve oNe" I glitched out. "Well we should think of one for you!" the girl said. "UhHhhhHhh, oKay" I said. This girl is not going to want to adopt me, cause not many people don't want Errors, let alone one without an eye. She probably is just talking to me because I am a rescue. "What do you think of the name Igloo?" she asked me. I let out an small squeak and hid under my ragged scarf. I had forgotten she was there. Slowly calming down, and realizing I was safe, I said "I-I liKe tH-at NamE, I stuttered. I felt my cheekbones turning to a slight yellow hue. "Okay Igloo, what do you like to do for fun?" she asked me quietly to not scare me again. Why is she wasting her time asking so many questions? "I moStLy siT and sleEp, buT ocCasiOnallY I mAke pupPetS" I peeped out. Her smile seems to dwindle for a moment, but it returns as quickly as it had sagged. I could clearly tell that this girl was hiding her sadness, it's an ability all bitties have, even a broken bitty like me. "Well I like to draw, write, ice skate, play video games, and play outside," she said and grinned like a doofus."wHaT aRe tHoSe?" I whispered. She looked shocked and put her hand to her chest, in a sort of false dramatic thing. "What??! You need to learn more activities!" she said. WhAt is your nAmE?" I said.

Y/n POV

                OMG he said his first question! Is he starting to warm up to me? I want to adopt him but it would be really awkward..."I've only known you for like 30 minutes but do you want to come live with me?" Oof, I mentally facepalmed. "My name is Y/n I said. Do you have any pals here? I heard you guys like Baby Blues?" I said nicely. I saw a tear form in his remaining eye. Oh noooooo, I've really flipped up now. "It's okay! You don't have to respond!!" I said panicked. I took out a small ginger mint and handed it to him. "Why don't you try this, it's really good!" I said in hopes to make him feel better. He took a small bite, and his smol  face lit up. I fangirled mentally. "He then gestured over to the tank beside him, "Is that your friend?" I asked in response to his gesture. "YeS" he stated. "Why don't we take him over hear to talk to!" I suggested. "He iS muTe, and dOesn't wAnt tO taLk mUcH, hE iS a ReAllY gOod listeneR ThoUgh," Igloo said. I smiled and nodded. He used his strings to get over to the idle Dream bitty, and the Dream bitty teleported over to me and Igloo rode his strings like a zipline back down to me. So cute. "y/N This iS StArBurSt, StArbuRsT meEt Y/n," he glitched. Starburst had tear stained cheekbones and and empty stare, it was like he looked into my soul. "Hello Starburst, it's nice to meet you!" I said kindly, giving him the closed eye smile. Did he just smile or was that just my imagination??! 

Nobody's POV

          They talked for a hours, and got to know each other. Igloo and Starburst got more and more comfortable with Y/n. While they were talking the cat store clerk looked through the security cameras, with amazement, because no one had ever gotten the rescues to talk accept for Mama Cry herself! Y/n's mom fell asleep. Then the question was finally came up:

                                                    "W-would you l-like to be my comp-anions?"

                                                Igloo crashed and, Starburst fell over with shock
