Elizabeth stroked her comb through her brown locks one last time before standing up and straightening out her dress and checking it out in the mirror. Today was the day of the New Year's ball. It wasn't until later that evening but her Aunt Amora was coming a few hours early. She hadn't seen her aunt in a very long time, because she was pretty sure there was a secret sibling rivalry between Amora and her father, but nonetheless she had to look good for her arrival and so did her sisters. She gently placed the tiara on her head before heading down to Hannah's bedroom, since she frequently had trouble getting ready on time for these things. She knocked.
"Hannah, it's me, Elizabeth" she spoke.
"Come in" Hannah responded muffled, through the door. Surprisingly, she was ready.
"Maybe she's getting better at this royal thing after all" Elizabeth thought to herself. She had her nose in
a book and seemed deeply invested in it due to the starlike gaze in her eyes.
"Are you actually reading on the day of the ball?" Elizabeth asked.
"Yes, just trying to pass the time until the guests arrive" Hannah chuckled.
"Well you must put it down, we will have to greet Aunt Amora at any moment!"Elizabeth said while grabbing her hand and pulling out her bedroom door and down the staircase.

The twins, Josephine and Charlotte, were getting ready together in Josie's bedroom. Josie aggressively brushed the last tangle out of her hair while Charlotte gently brushes some light pink blush onto her cheeks.
"Are you excited for the ball tonight?" asked Josie.
"No, parties and large crowds in general aren't exactly my tempo" Charlotte answered quietly. Josie turned to her sister, looked her in the eye and said.
"Char, you are sixteen years old. I know you have a heart disease to hold you back but, when are you going to learn to live life. What if something horrible happens and it hits you like a brick? How are you going to handle it?" Josie ranted.
"I guess I never thought about it-" Charlotte was cut off by Elizabeth and Hannah dashing by the door and down the stairs. The twins turn to each other and laugh before getting up and racing after them.

"My dear, do you know where I placed my crown?" Queen Victoria asked her husband while looking around, with a crown on her head.
"It's on your head, love" King Azazel chuckled. Victoria couldn't help but laugh at herself too.
"Thank you my dear. I'm sorry i'm just so frazzled with the ball today, always a big event you know" she responded. As she straighted the crown on her head, she felt the shaking of feet running down the staircase, she knew that could only mean one thing.
"I do believe your favorite sister is here" she says sarcastically to Azazel.
"She can be quite the pain" he groaned quietly. Victoria planted a short kiss on his lips for encouragement before taking his arm to lead him downstairs.
"Shall we?" she asked. They slowly walked down the staircase together to the front entrance where all four of the beloved daughters stood waiting.
"I believe I just heard her carriage pull in" said Nancy, the head maid. A knock was placed on the palace door and Nancy and the other servants pulled it open.
"Hello brother."
