TW: mentions of death
Elizabeth felt frozen in her body. She sat behind her bedroom door, sobbing. She held her mother's crown to her chest.
"You were supposed to teach me how to be the next queen. What do I do now?" Elizabeth whispered to herself, hoping someway her mother would hear her crys.

Azazel rushed to his bedroom. He wanted to vomit. He wanted to die.
"She didn't deserve this" was the only thing Azazel could mumble.
"She didn't deserve this".

Azazel cut his long brown locks into some short shreds. He felt nothing but grief.

The public was not informed of the queen's death. The funeral was held the next day at dawn, family only. Azazel took a separate carriage while Amora rode with the girls. None of them wore crowns in respect of their mother.
"I really am, sorry for your loss" Amora broke the silence in the carriage ride.
"T-Thank you Aunt Amora" Elizabeth nodded quietly while her sisters stayed silent. Every word about it was painful for them. When the funeral began, other than the priest, only two people spoke; Azazel and Elizabeth. Azazel spoke first.
"My beloved Victoria, who deserved the world. Her kind heart. Her radiant smile. Nothing could compare to my love. I have no idea why anyone would be so foolish to harm her in any way. My heart hurts for her. I know she's looking down on me, our family, especially our daughters and keeping us forever safe. Until we meet again my love" Azazel wept as he blew a kiss to the sky. Elizabeth then spoke.
"My mother was a role model to all. The ideal woman some might say. I learned probably every mannerism of hers hoping to one day follow in her footsteps and be a amazing queen. I only thought I would've had more time to learn from her. Now, my life has been thrown off the trail but I know somewhere, mother is looking out for us. I love you mommy. I always will" Elizabeth sobbed and rushed back to her seat.

Once the service was concluded, Victoria's body was lowered into the ground and the family watched in despair. Azazel insisted that he stay behind and walk back to the castle on foot, as he needed to gather his thoughts. However, when the rest of the family returned to the palace something strange happened. Charolette fell behind in the group walking into the castle because she noticed a shadow moving in the distance. Her family hadn't noticed yet that she wasn't there so she went to check out the phenomenon.
"The village boy?"
