I hummed, groggily opening my eyes. I rubbed the blurriness out of them with the heels of my hands and groaned, my body felt heavy like stone, but even more than that, I felt exhausted. I turned on my side and my eyes immediately found Alexandra's sleeping form, my face flushed as I remembered last night. 'That's right...' I thought. 'The kiss...'
That would also explain why I felt so tired. I heard Alexandra groan and I watched as she sat up, rubbing her eyes tiredly. She turned her head and smiled tiredly at me. "Morning," she yawned, her voice was thick with sleep and I felt myself become red as I thought back to the kiss. Alexandra raised an eyebrow. "Why are you so red?"
I pinched my lips together, feeling embarrassed already. "I-I was thinking about...the kiss last night, a-and what you said," I admit quietly. Alexandra's face stilled for a moment and then she smirked mischievously.
"Well," she smirked, throwing the duvet covers off her body. "There's more where that came from."
Alexandra stood up and stretched, her shirt rode up exposing her toned stomach and despite seeing her stomach bare multiple times, I blushed. I turned away and Alexandra chuckled, walking to her suitcase which was placed by the dresser, within moments she had collected her clothes and disappeared into the bathroom. Once the door shut I heaved a sigh of relief, falling back onto the bed. 'My bi is showing, holy shit,' I thought, rubbing my eyes with the heels of my palms. I shook my head rapidly and got up to change, going to my suitcase and pulling out an oversized Burgundy sweater with a deep V-neck, and a black skater skirt.
I quickly got dressed and Alexandra stepped out of the shower wearing a V-neck maroon shirt that tied at the front, along with black ripped jeans. "I am so grateful the competition isn't until 2pm," she said, quickly towel drying her hair. "I'm exhausted."
I huffed playfully, shutting my suitcase. "You're the one who wanted to go swimming at 10pm last night," I reminded lightheartedly.
"I got to finally kiss you, didn't I?" Alexandra said with a smile. I blushed.
"You kiss me all the time though," I countered. Alexandra shrugged, sitting on the bed and taking my fidget cube from the drawer.
"A lip kiss is different, you know?" Alexandra said softly. "A forehead kiss or a cheek kiss is good but a lip kiss is just...better. And don't tell me you felt nothing!"
I looked down at my bare feet, the familiar rush in my chest came back and I found myself smiling. "Y-yeah, I felt something."
"C'mon lover girl, we should get to breakfast," Alexandra cheekily said before exiting the room. My mouth gaped open at her cheekiness before I quickly followed her, making sure to lock the hotel door. Breakfast at the local cafe was quieter than normal with the rest of the group being as tired as Alexandra and I. My face the entire ordeal was red as a poppy flower as Alexandra settled herself into the crook of my neck, hiding her face with her arms wrapped firmly around my waist. I noticed Mrs Reynolds kept looking over to us and shaking her head amusedly, a small smile tugging at her lips.
After breakfast it was time to head to the venue for the competition, with our dance bags already loaded in the bus, we got on. The drive was quick and as soon as we got off the bus we were treated by a backstage helper. She was plump, with short red hair and bangs, she had thin lips permanently in a scowl and her pudgy fingers flicked at the clipboard in her hand when we arrived. "Dancer's Express?" She questioned nasally.
"Yes, that would be us," Mrs Reynolds nodded with a warm smile. The lady turned her nose up and turned away.
"Follow me," she sighed.
