Chapter 27

The big day was finally here. It was Nicole and Matt's wedding day. Nicole was getting ready in the dressing room with Stella, Kim, Carly, Megan, and little Bella running around. She had just finished slipping on her dress when there was a knock at the door. Kim looked through the peep hole and smiled.

"Nic, I think you're going to want to answer this one."

With a confused look, Nicole walked over to the door and opened it. She froze when she saw who was on the other side. There in a stunning pink dress was Eva. Immediately Nicole wrapped her in a tight hug, a few tears threatening to full.

"You RSVPed no," Nicole said as she stepped back and let Eva in.

"Yeah, well I moved my plans around. I couldn't miss your wedding," Eva smiled, "I let Matt know a week ago."

"He knew?! I give him props on not spilling the beans!"

Eva chuckled as Bella ran over to them, "Ugh. Bella-bee! You're getting so big! Feels like just yesterday I was holding you while your momma made thanksgiving dinner."

Nicole smiled at the sight of Eva holding Bella. Those two had an adorable sisterly bond. She felt very lucky that her daughter had that. Even if the relationship was distant.

"Yeah she has. Wait until you see Noah. He's grown like a weed!"

"I bet! Sorry to intrude on you getting ready, but I just had to come say hi."

"No, I'm happy you did. You have no idea how happy I am that you're here."

"Well I'm very happy to be here. But I better get back, I left my boyfriend my himself."

"Okay. But as soon as this wedding stuff is over I'm meeting him!"

"Deal!"

With that Eva walked off. Nicole shut the door and finished getting ready. Everybody was getting in order and the sanctuary of the church was full of their loved ones. Nicole stepped out of the dressing room to be met with her bridal party. Kelly shot her a big grin as his hands rested on Noah's shoulders.

"You look beautiful Nic," he complimented.

"Thanks Kelly," she smiled before looking down at Noah, "You ready little man?"

"Let's do this!"

Noah and Nicole stood off to the side as the big doors opened. Megan started walking down the aisle pulling Bella behind her in the wedding. Then came Matthew, Nicole's nephew, with the rings. Kelly and Carly headed down the aisle followed by Stella and Hermann, and finally Kim and Cruz. The doors shut again, allowing Nicole and Noah to position themselves in front of the door. Since Nicole didn't have a father in the picture, her little man wanted to walk her down the aisle. Of course she agreed. Nicole took a deep breath as the doors opened and they began to walk. Matt had a huge smile on his face as he playfully clutched his chest. Nic chuckled a bit in response as she took in the moment. When they reached the alter, Nic bent down and Noah gave her a kiss on the cheek, setting her hand in Matt's. She stepped onto the alter, holding Matt's hands as Noah moved to stand next to Kelly. Sylvie was officiating and couldn't stop smiling.

"We are gathered here today to renew the vows of this man and this woman. The couple has chosen to write there own vows. Matt, if you would like to begin."

Matt took a deep breath as he gazed at her, "Nicole, you are the strongest woman I have ever known. Our relationship came after both of us were coming out of hard times and letting your family move in with me was the best decision I ever made. Not only have you blessed me by letting me be your husband, but you made me a father to an amazing little girl and a step-dad to a bright boy. I love every moment I get to spend with you and our ever growing family and I can't wait to see what the future holds. I love you babe."
