"Happy Mother's Day!" cried Noah and Bella as they ran into the room.
Nicole smiled as her two bundles of joy burst into the room, "Hey munchkins!"
They both climbed into bed with her, tackling her with hugs. Nicole chuckled as she peppered them with kisses. When they finally let her up, she noticed Matt standing in the doorway. He had a huge smile on his face.
"Momma! You have to go downstairs to open our presents!" Noah insisted, jumping off the bed.
"Presents Mommy!" Bella chanted, wiggly off the bed herself.
Nicole through the covers off and the kids immediately took off. Nicole paused in the doorway, letting Matt wrap her arms around her and kiss her good morning. They had just gotten home from their honeymoon two weeks ago, but they were very much still in that honeymoon stage. There was just so much love between the two of them.
"Happy Mother's Day beautiful," Matt grinned between kisses.
"Thanks baby."
They headed down the stairs, hand in hand. The kids were standing next to the sliding glass door which leads to the backyard. Nicole and Matt had moved into a new house in Hermann's neighborhood. Kelly, Stella, and Jay began moving the essentials in while Matt and Nicole were gone on their honeymoon. Once they got back, they rallied the troops at 51 and the 21st to help finish moving everything. So far the kids were loving not living in an apartment. They have this beautiful backyard with a play set and there's five bedrooms, so there's plenty of room for everyone. The kids each have their own bedrooms, a playroom, and there's a extra room for now. Matt and Nicole have a nice master with their own bathroom. It truly was the perfect home.
"Come on momma!" Noah cried as they finally reached the back door, "Okay, close your eyes."
"Okay. Don't let me fall," Nic chuckled as Matt picked up Bella and Noah grabbed Nic's hand.
Carefully they made it out the door before Noah cheered, "Open them!"
She opened her eyes to see a big, painted flower pot. It had a picture of Noah on the front, his hand prints on either side of the photo, and then on the back was a picture he painted. The rim of the pot said Happy Mother's Day! Love, Noah. In the pot were pink lilies, her favorite flowers. It was honestly one of the most precious gifts ever.
"Noah, I love it so much!" Nicole exclaimed, squatting down and giving him a huge hug, "Thank you so much buddy."
"I made it with Ms. Emily at school! All for you momma."
"Well it's beautiful baby boy. Thank you so so much!"
"My turn!" yelled Bella, grabbing her mom's hand and pulling her towards the house.
With a chuckle Nicole followed the little girl to the living room where there were two gift bags. When she reached them, she went to grab the blue one, but then stopped at looked at Matt to make sure it was the right one. Matt nodded with a smile causing her to snatch it up and hand it to Nic. She began opening it, and pulled out the gift. It was a tan bag with painted design on it. There were four of Bella's hand prints in pink around a yellow circle along with a green stem connecting it to the bottom of the bag. It was the cutest thing.
"Bella-B! I love it. Our these your little fingers?!" Nicole asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yeah! Daddy helped!"
"Oh did he? Well, it is beautiful. Thank you baby girl."
"Welcome mommy!"
And then she ran off to the play room, done with the celebrating. That was just how Bella was, she jumped from one thing to the other...kinda like her momma. As Noah ran off after his baby sister, Matt grabbed the other gift bag off the floor. She pulled out the tissue paper to reveal two things. The first one had her laughing. It was a white coffee mug with a pink shark in the middle, above it it said Mommy Shark and under it it said, Doo Doo Doo. It was cheesy, but it was adorable.
"God, just when I thought I had escaped the song, it returns!" she joked before setting it on the coffee table.
"I figured it could be your work mug."
"Actually that's a good idea. No one would steal it."
With a smile she reached in for the other gift. It was a long black box which obviously gave away that it was jewelry. Nicole opened it up to see a silver circle locket with gems in it. It was both of the kid's birthstones, and then there was a N+M metal piece fused together in it as well. The background plate was a tree, representing a family tree.
"Matt," Nicole spoke, getting teary eyed about it, "This is...amazing."
"I'm really happy you like it," he smiled happily, "And you can buy more pieces online if we ever need to ya know, add birthstones or if you want new things to switch it out. It's totally customized to you."
"I love it. Thank you babe."
"Of course. You're my girl."
He pressed a kiss to her lips before helping her clasp it on. It was a really meaningful gift and one that reminds her of her family everyday.
"So, you know how I told you I bought a new shirt?" Nicole asked excitedly.
"Yeah."
"I wanna show it to you. So I'll be right back!"
"Okay. I'm going to toast some waffles for us and the kids. Sound good?"
"Sounds wonderful baby."
Nicole ran upstairs to their bedroom and changed into the light blue shirt. She was extremely excited yet nervous to show it off to Matt. She honestly didn't know how he was going to react. After one last glance in the bathroom mirror, she headed back downstairs. Once she got to the kitchen she stopped dead in her tracks. Matt still had his back to her at the moment.
"Ehem!" she fake coughed to get his attention.
He spun around and paused to read the shirt. Then his eyes went wide. In black on the shirt it said It's Mother's Day & I'm pregnant. Matt just stood there for a moment in disbelief. Then he quickly made his way to her and wrapped her in a tight hug. Words couldn't describe how excited he was.
"We're having another baby?"
"We're having another baby!"
