!! Same classification au as the other chapter but reverse who the littles are. A request for Poetic Parker from like the beginning of the month, I'm sorry it took so long. I didn't forget, I just had everything happening at once and I didn't have the energy to write it!!
Summary: When the sides get their classifications, only one of the newly found Little/Caregiver relationships falls into place immediately. The other..well, Roman doesn't want to believe that he's a little.
--
"I can see myself being either, little or caregiver.." Patton held Logan's hand, sitting rather close to him on their little armchair.
"There's a classification for that. Switch," Logan explained, and Patton nodded. Roman and Virgil sat on the couch, the four in a sort of 'half-circle' formation.
"Age regression is a coping skill for anxiety, but I don't think I'm a little. Nothing against it, just not my thing, y' know?" Virgil admitted, and Roman nodded. Roman was nervous, very nervous. He knew the answers he put on the paper probably leaned towards him being little, but he didn't want to believe it.
Logan and Patton practically had a basic little/caregiver dynamic as it was, sometimes Patton need care, and sometimes he took over his usual fatherly role. Roman knew that, if he was a little, he had three other sides willing to take care of him. It wasn't like he'd be judged.
"So," Virgil sighed, leaning forward to grab his envelope off the table, "Are we gonna do this?"
Logan nodded, grabbing his and Patton's results. Virgil handed Roman his. "How about we open them one-by-one? Announce our results to the group and move on?" Logan suggested, and Virgil nodded. Roman found himself hiding his face in Virgil's shoulder shyly. It was widely known that no matter what, littles usually regressed around the time of receiving their results.
Patton seemed more bouncy, more cuddly and playful. "Okay, you first, Patton," Logan instructed, handing him the envelope. Patton opened it, cheering at his results. "Switch, little headspace between 1 and 4! Caregiver type: caring and fun. " Logan cheered, causing Patton to clap his hands with a giggle.
"Well isn't this to precious to process," Virgil commented, and Logan smiled.
"You're already so cute," Logan moved to open his envelope, "Caregiver...." he trailed off.
"What type?" Virgil asked.
"Strict when needed, but loving," Logan read, and Patton whimpered at the word 'strict'. "Awe, Patton. I'm sure I won't have to be strict with you, right?"
Patton nodded, and Logan leaned forward and kissed his forehead. "We get it, you're adorable," Virgil scoffed, ripping open his envelope without a second thought. "Caregiver, attentive and affectionate," he announced. He looked to Roman, who lifted his head from Virgil's shoulders.
Roman fumbled with the envelope, biting at his lip at he ripped it open. He already seemed to be more clumsy, and childlike. "Hey, don't be scared," Virgil noticed his nervousness before he read the results, "we won't judge you no matter what, it's gonna be alright, Roman." he assured.
"I just don't wanna be a little," Roman admitted, still not looking at his result paper. Leaving it tucked in perfectly, just inside the white little envelope.
"Why not? There's nothing wrong with it..and if you are, you have all three of us to take care of you whenever you need it," Virgil picked up on his behaviors, and could tell that he was regressing. He could predict what that paper was going to say, and he didn't want Roman to be upset when he read the results.
"I'm the prince...and I don't want you guys to not take me seriously, I'm an adult...not some toddler," he spoke softly, sniffling slightly by the end of his statement.
"Hey," Virgil took the envelope out of his hands and set it back on the coffee table. He took Roman's hand, and used his fingers to life his chin, forcing him to look up at him. "Yes, you are an adult, but you may, verywell have the headspace that toddler-like. And that's okay, it doesn't mean we aren't gonna take you seriously, alright?"
Roman nodded, feeling a bit better. "Now, will you be super, super brave for me and look at those results? And not be upset if the result isn't what you want it to be?"
Roman wanted to be brave, so he hesitantly nodded. Virgil grabbed the envelope, and held it out to Roman, who looked up at him. Roman seemed to be really dependant, but he took the envelope and pulled the paper out of it. He pouted upon read the words, "Do you wanna be even braver and read them out loud?" Virgil read over his shoulder, smiling. Roman shook his head, whining.
"Don't worry, I'll do it. You're already super brave, alright buddy?"
Roman giggled, nodding while Virgil read aloud. "Little, 3-6 headspace,"
Logan did the same playful cheer that he did when Patton looked at his results, effectively cheering up the disappointed little. "How about we do something fun?" Virgil pondered, looking to Logan.
"Yeah, I can make food for us, and Virgil can play a movie for you two," Logan decided.
"Does disney sound good?"
Both littles cheered, agreeing to the plan. Thomas's sides have had so many changes within their lives, new things happening weren't that big of a deal. That's why they were able to adapt quickly after learning of each others results.
And for all of their sake, that was probably a good thing.
