The witchers took seats in nearby chairs.
Gandalf began talking with a sigh. 'Uh. Thranduil is still as stubborn as an old dwarf. Uh.' He shook his head then continued ' Cornelia is not an elleth. She's a human. An ordinary one when you see her but the lady has so much unexplained power in her and she does not even realize it.
You see Thranduil has cared for her ever since she and the company of Thorin Oakenshield were brought before him. How she came across the company is her story to tell not mine.
The aftermath of the battle of the five armies is what made him care more for her. He became overprotective of her and kept her here in the walls of his kingdom. You see the battle was unbalanced. The forces of evil had more volume than the armies of elves, men and dwarves. So the head of the evil armies must be cut.Thorin the king under the mountain and his best warriors -including his nephews- and Legolas the young prince of the woodland and Thranduil's son set out to eliminate Azog the defiler and his spawn Bolg, whom without the armies of evil will fail. Cornelia was in the battle alongside Thranduil. He rushed to the location were his son was to ensure his safety and took her with him. When they arrived both Bolg and Legolas were lying on the floor. Legolas seemed dead. The king stopped in his tracks freezing at the sight. His only son was dead in front of him. Cornelia -who has became a good friend to Legolas- couldn't believe her eyes. She shoke him trying to wake him up but to no avail. Then she cried hugging him. Somehow he breathed again. He coughed and she let go of him. He tried to get up but couldn't due to his wounds. Cornelia and Thranduil didn't believe their eyes. Thranduil stood frozen until Cornelia called his name to check Legolas's wounds. She handed him some Athelas also known as kingsfoil and he tried to heal some of his deep wounds while Cornelia rushed to get a healer. She wasn't going to lose her friend. Not today.
While rushing towards the healer she came across Thorin who was successful at killing Azog. While running she heard the scream of Taurial. Her other friend and the captain of the elven gaurds. She was screaming because Kili - Thorin's youngest nephew- was lying dead. He was slashed by an orc. Taurial and Kili were in love. He was one of Cornelia's closest friends. He lied dead and she couldn't handle it so she did the same. Hugged him crying. Kili woke up, again to her surprise. She gave more Athelas to Taurial but as soon as she stood she fainted.
Her,Legolas and Kili were healed and are alive and well today. But Cornelia grew weak.
Before you ask how, let me tell you that me and other wizards, in addition to powerful elves have ponderd upon what happened for a long time. We studied old scrolls and translated ancient prophecies but found nothing like this.
As I told you, she grew weaker. She couldn't stay awake for long periods of time. And was looking pale and sickly. It's like life was leaving her body. We later found that Thranduil's light helps her stay conscious and brings some life back to her.
Cornelia is a very lively person. She's active and full of life. She shines of joy and happiness. However after the battle it seems like her light is fading. She grew cold and sad. That's were this thought hit me. She gave part of her soul to save her friends. Cornelia gave them part of her so now this part of her is empty. That's her importance dear gentlemen. Throughout all my years I have never came across a human how can do the same.
That's why she's special and that's why the king keeps her near him. He feels grateful for her sacrifice. As well as admiration and respect. Cornelia is good and I am certain that if we speak with her and you present her with your problem she won't hesitate to help.'
'Wow. Such a bizzare story master Gandalf.' Vesemir first spoke.
'I do not believe we have heard of such thing in our world as well. Maybe she is indeed special.' Geralt added.
'Well, we need to talk to her then we'll judge.' Vesemir said. Geralt nodded in agreement. 'But how?' He asked.
'She usually stays in the king's quarters. I told you he's too overprotective of her. We simply must sneak there and talk to her.' Gandalf replied.
'Hmmm. It won't be easy I assume. There are probably too many gaurds. And we don't want anyone hurt.' Vesemir said.
'Right you are master witcher that's why I'll do the sneaking and I'll bring her here. I happen to be a good friend of hers as well.' Gandalf said seemingly amused!
'Alright. It's settled. Bring her here and we'll speak with her.' Vesemir said. Gandalf stood up leaving the two witchers to analyze the information they just received.
'Do you think it's true?' Vesemir asked Geralt. 'I mean this girl's ability to revive the dead?'
'I don't know Vesemir. The mage said she was giving them parts of her soul. I only hope she isn't practicing necromancy.' Geralt answered.
'I don't think she's a witch Geralt. How could she deceive everyone around her? There must be someone who saw her truth.' Vesemir said.
'Witches can't be trusted. They can manipulate everything around them to their liking.' Geralt said.
'Yea. You would know that won't you Geralt?!' Vesemir said sarcastically.
Geralt stared at Vesemir 'Not my point. But I guess we'll see once we meet her.'
'Let's assume her powers are real. How do we plan on using them?' Asked Vesemir.
'If they're real then we have another chance in life. A chance we can offer Ciri if we can't find her on time. My Ciri will have a new lease on life.' Geralt said looking at nothing in particular.
'Yes. She'll be very useful.' Vesemir added.
