A Purple and Black shimmering hole was in front of him.
'Why is this portal different?' Geralt asked The witch.
'What do you mean Geralt?' Yennefer answered not lifting her eyes from the massive book that she was reading.
'This one is purple, big and looks extremely dangerous.' He replied.
'It's a portal to a different world Geralt. What did you expect? Or do you think you can get there on Roach?' She said unenthusiastically.
'It would certainly be better.' He huffed.
'Oh quit your whinging Geralt.'
'Is it ready yet Yennefer?' Asked Vesemir.
'Yes. Are you sure you want to do this ?' She replied looking away from her book.
'We have to.' Said Vesemir.
'We need to. ' Said Geralt.
'No we don't. We can find and help Ciri her on our own.' Yennefer was starting to scream.
'But what if we were late. What of the wild hunt caught up with her before we do. What if she's hurt? We need this Yen. None of your spells or our potions can bring her back to life if the unthinkable happened and you know this.' Geralt shouted back
'Now now. No need to raise our voices. Geralt is right. What your friend the mage has is special and it would be an excellent way to ensure Ciri's saftey. Besides there's nothing in our world that can revive the dead and bring them back to life other than black magic. And we won't be using that no matter the circumstances. '
Said Vesemir calmly.
'But you know that magic has a price. And I strongly believe that the price for this spell would be grave. And I fear we won't be able to pay it.' She replied.
'It matters not to me. I'll do anything for Ciri.' Said Geralt.
'Uh fine. There's no reasoning with witchers. You two should go now. This kind of magic is strong and it drains me. It would be difficult to keep the portal stable for your passing. Once you arrive there Gandalf woyld be waiting for you so please go now.' She said giving up.
'Wait. How are we getting back?' Said Geralt.
'The mage you'll meet there will take care of it don't worry. ' answered Yennefer
'Alright. See you Yen.' Said Geralt walking towards the portal. Vesemir following him.
'I really hate portals.' Was the last thing Geralt said before the purple shimmer engulfed him and his mentor.
