Renjun's POV
I walked down to the dining room to eat my share of breakfast. I saw Mom and my sister already starting to eat.
"Good morning." I greeted them with a small yawn and sat beside my sister, Meiyin. She looked at me then her brow suddenly raised. "What happened to you? You look so pale."
My throat tightened when I remembered my nightmare. "I just.. didn't have enough sleep. I slept late last night." I simply said and took my chopsticks. I started to eat the food that was on the table.
Meiyin and Mom looked satisfied with my answer so we continued on to our breakfast. "Do you have plans to go out today?" My sister asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah. I'm meeting up with my friends. It won't take long." I replied and sipped a small portion of soup. "Be careful when you leave, Renjun."
"Yes, Mom."
I finished up my breakfast and placed them in the sink. I went up to my room to go get my phone. It was already on full battery so I rushed down and kissed Mom goodbye.
I exited the house and walked to the convenience store where Jeno was working. I sighed when I remembered my dream from last night.
Is it starting to haunt us again? But the other Mark said they were finally at peace.
Did my monster turn into that Samael Tarnaluth? Impossible. The other Mark never lied to us. All he did was warn and offend us, but that's it.
Talk about the words on my mirror, I took it down and hid it in the storage room. I don't want Mom nor Meiyin to find out about our problem.
This feels like worse than before.
I was already in front of the store and I saw Jaemin, Jeno and Donghyuck waiting inside. They are as pale as I was and their expressions are serious. Their mouth moved, probably making small conversation.
I pushed the door of the store and the bell rang, making their heads turn towards me. Donghyuck was wearing his specs and he has his black hoodie over his head. Jeno was in a simple white shirt, wearing a mask that has been pulled down.
Jaemin was nervous too but he looked determined to solve this problem once and for all.
I took a large bottle of water from the beverage area and gave it to Yeeun at the counter. I paid for it and immediately drank the water as soon as she gave me my change.
All four of us were extremely quiet and I feel like Yeeun is getting uncomfortable with our presence. She sighed. "You guys, you're blocking the counter. And your silence is that of you lost someone, it's depressing. You should probably wait outside instead."
We all nodded and thanked Yeeun before waiting in front of the store. We waited for a few minutes before the last three arrived. Chenle brought his van with him and we went inside to start up conversation about our nightmares.
"So, all of us had weird dreams last night, right?" Chenle asked and we all nodded. "Okay, let's narrate what happened in those nightmares; just the important details. Let's start with the eldest then to the youngest." We agreed and Mark hyung started talking.
He talked about where he was in front of a house that looks a lot like in the Thriller video and to the watch and the lion. Donghyuck, who is a huge Michael Jackson fan, didn't even react at the mention of the house in Mark's dream.
"It introduced itself as Satan Diabolo. When I woke up, the words 'it's just the beginning' were written on my window." He finished.
The past is clearly haunting us.
