Jeno's POV
"Jeno, wake up!"
I groaned. "Mom~, it's too early. Besides, it's Saturday." I complained and hugged my Grizzly plushie tighter.
She clicked her tongue. "Well first, breakfast is served. Second, Yeeun is waiting outside. Don't let her wait, right?"
When I heard her name, I jolted up and looked at Mom with my tired, just-woke-up eyes. "Why are you blackmailing me with her, Mom? You're so unfair."
She smirked. "You're making it so obvious that you like her." I stretched my arms and rubbed my eyes. "Mom, Yeeun noonah is just a friend and it would be rude to let a friend wait."
Mom shrugged and walked outside with that look. "Whatever you say~." She closed my bed room door and I rolled my eyes.
I stood up and went to my bathroom to check myself in the mirror. I washed my face with water from the faucet and brushed my teeth. After doing so, I wore a white sleeveless shirt and went down.
I saw Mom busy typing something on her laptop. Her gaze went up to me and she smiled. I gave her one back and went outside. By the time I opened the front door, I saw Yeeun noonah sitting on one of the chairs in the garden.
"Noonah, it's too early for you to come here." I said and her head whipped to me. She flashed a grin and stood up. "Good morning, Jeno!"
I chuckled and ruffled my hair even more. "Good morning, noonah, but seriously, what are you doing here so early?" I asked. She folded her arms and shrugged. "Nothing. The past months without you around was lonely."
"You just miss me because you can't make fun of anyone." Yeeun noonah nodded honestly. "That's the point." She looked at my hair and started straightening them. I didn't mind.
"By the way," She started and she glared at me. "You're copying my hair colors. Now that I have black, you too." I laughed. "Hey, it's not my fault. Anyway, have you taken breakfast yet?"
She nodded. "Yeah, but thanks for the offer."
Our heads turned to the front door when Mom called out, "I don't mind if you eat with us, Yeeun!" She was even holding her phone and I know that she took a picture of us.
"It's okay, Auntie! I already ate but thank you!" Mom nodded and headed back inside the house. I looked back at Yeeun noonah. "Are you gonna stay?" I asked and I sounded needy that I felt myself blush.
"I'll come back later. I have to take my shift in the convenience store. I'll see you later," She said and I nodded. We stayed silent for a few minutes when she suddenly kissed my cheek.
"Bye." She squeaked and ran for the man gate. Too flustered, she fumbled over the lock and when she finally opened it, she rushed away without even closing it back.
I chuckled to myself as I saw her run. I closed the man gate myself and thought about what Mom said. It's not me who was obvious that I like her. What if she likes me instead?
I rolled my eyes. I have an assuming ass. Who would like me?
As I walked back inside, I felt my phone in my pocket. I slept with it in my pocket?
I quickly pulled it out and answered the call without looking whose contact it was. "Hello? Lee Jeno speaking."
"Hey, Jeno hyung!! It's been what? Three months?" I squinted my eyes, trying to remember who owns a voice so high-pitched and loud.
There was only one boy. "Oh, Chenle." He screamed on the other line. "Aaahh, you remember me, hyung!" I rolled my eyes at what he said. "Obviously. Why would I forget you, you screeching dolphin?"
"First, I'm offended but true and second, of course you would remember me, I'm unforgettable. How are you doing, hyung?" He asked as I went inside the house and sat on the living room couch.
"I'm doing well. How about you? Drowned in your own luxury?" I smirked and he laughed in the other line. "Quite..? HAHA, anyway, I hope we could all meet up someday. It would be really fun and I miss you guys."
"You're the only one who misses us, Chenle." I replied and looked up to Mom who was handing me a porcelain cup of tea. I acted first before thinking. I jumped off the couch and fell on my butt, making a thudding sound.
"Jeno!"
"Jeno hyung, are you okay?" Chenle asked worriedly from the phone.
I was breathing heavily. "Mom, take that away from me, please." I closed my eyes shut and I heard Mom say, "Oh, okay. You don't need to be scared like that." I opened an eye and heaved a sigh.
"You don't understand.."
"Jeno hyung?" I turned back to my phone on the couch and took it. "Yeah, Chenle, I'm fine. I just fell from the couch." He didn't laugh. "Hyung, I know you're kind of stupid but not that stupid. Why did you fall?"
"Mom tried handing me a porcelain cup." I said, folding my legs. "I thought you're only scared of glass?" I brushed my hair and wiped my face with my free hand. "Anything that breaks, Chenle."
"Oh. You're okay now, right?" I nodded even though he can't see me. "Yeah. Now, let's stop talking about my fear of things that break. Bye now. I have to get ready for my shift in the convenience store with Yeeun noonah."
I rolled my eyes when he cooed. "Ooh, who is this Yeeun noonah? Is she one of the reason why you fell? Kidding, haha!"
"You disappoint me so much, Lele."
"Mr. Zhong, you have another photo shoot," I heard a woman say from where Chenle is. He told us that he went to Shanghai with his Dad for vacation but I didn't expect for a photo shoot.
"I gotta go, hyung. Talk to you soon! Bye! Take care and if ever you and this Yeeun noonah — you know — fall in love, call me ASAP." I stared at the air with a poker face, thinking that it was Chenle.
"Chenle."
"Just kidding. Love you, hyung! Bye~!" He dropped the call and I finally got to breathe from Chenle and I's conversation. I smiled. He's still the same.
I stood up and went to Mom to apologize but when I looked at her, she has a guilty smile. "I know you have fear of glass, son, and I'm sorry." I gave her my eye smile, hugging her. "It's okay. Just don't forget about it again."
She rubbed my back. "I won't. Eat your breakfast. You're still going to go to the convenience store." I nodded and went to the dining room.
Everything on the table was plastic and the only glass was the window.
And I avoid it.
I shook my head to erase the awful memory from the last three months. It's done now. We beat it and we're back in track.
I glanced at my skin, the faint scars still there. It's just a nightmare now. Nothing more.
